Thats not going to happen anytime soon.  Most countries simply dont have the infrastructure to sustain that.  I have a 95GB cap, imagine if I had to stream everything I wanted.  Simply would not work.  Its possible, but not for a long time

And a lot of the states are introducing caps.  Plus consider the increased strain on the networks if all DVDs and HD movies were streamed over the internet.  I doubt there are many networks that could support that

Very long ways away from happening here.  Plus think of all the changes in TVs or a separate box people would need to have streaming movie instead of DVD players, BluRay etc.  Or portable DVD players.  Its not going to get rid of DVD players and BluRay anytime soon

Yeah. I download everything these days. Can't remember the last time I bought a physical disk. Must be at least 2 years ago now.
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

This.

My master formula is as so;

If person enjoys reading => go on the internet and find the best book of the year/decade
If not => Get a DVD that looks decent.

And then a return card.

RELATIVELY soon. The next decade or so. Those ass backwards caps will not stop progress. Interject capital from movie studios, tv, and other media sales. Deals will be done, money will be made.
Resistance is futile.

That has shit to with anything where I live. FO is everywhere, including my sisters, my parents, and my own gated association owned and maintained communities. The HOA is supposed to help improve the community. If its not then your system is jacked.

The only company in the UK that has remotely fast speeds and no caps is virgin. The others will claim no caps but somewhere in the contract it will state so many gigs. With BT its about 60gigs a month.

Those capped plans are not getting revenue support from movie/record studios. That will not always be the case. Online distribution is much cheaper than the manufacturing and distribution of DVD/BD media. A good portion of the capped isp's are also selling tv packages. That is the primary reason they cap their plans. It is to prevent you from canceling your TV/PPV service (because of the availability of TV shows and movies online).

Let's put it this way.  I could run for the board and get elected.  But no way will we get enough votes to cover the cost to dig the streets and install the cables.  Hell, from my house, at least five homes have either Wireless B or Wireless G with WEP.

you have 2 kinds of ISPs here; the cheap that say 20mb/s (it is ~10 most of the time) they can bitch if you download much and the more expensive ones, they say 8mb/s (I get 10 ) they never bitch is you download much.

It sounds like you live in a retirement community. Within a couple weeks there was no sign of the workers and the job they did when they laid fiber here.
