ITT: someone stole the glasses and wants to trip out at home.
I thought there may be room for a sequel:
Where earths forces nuke the planet from orbit to send the "overgrown smurfs" to hell. Then come and take as many minerals they want anyway. I think the sequel may only go for 15 mins or so.

I kept my glasses. The glasses look polarized, gonna try them out when I go fishing.N00bkilla55404 wrote:

The pair my brother got when he went have a some text on the side saying they can't be used for sunglasses. Then agian, the ones you have may be different.loubot wrote:

No, when he says fishing he doesn't mean as sunglasses. You can get polarized glasses for fishing so as to better see through the reflections in the water and shit.M.O.A.B wrote:

The whole point of having polarised glass is so you block UV rays, hence if it says they can't be used as sunglasses, I doubt they're polarised then.
Huh, never heard of that before.Mekstizzle wrote:

yup! they're great, keeps you from getting a headache from the reflections as well
You've never used polarising lenses to get rid of reflections? It's great.M.O.A.B wrote:

The whole point of having polarised glass is to only let light through at one angle (sort of - that's a pretty terrible description tbh). Polarising camera lenses are hardly designed to block UV light. The Sheriff wrote:

Different uses for the same technology?Bertster7 wrote:

Polarising sunglasses stop UV getting through by blocking all but a certain wavelength of Electromagnetic waves through (visible light).
Incorrect, its to block reflections, there is no effect on UV.The Sheriff wrote:

They are polarised, but each eye is different so not much use for fishing.hence if it says they can't be used as sunglasses, I doubt they're polarised then.

I thought that if you put 2 polarised lenses at right angles to each other that it should block out all light. I tried it with the 3D glasses, and it didnt block anything out. I thought they wouldnt be polarised due to this.
contrary to the hype and good reviews, i've yet to see this film, i just don't feel motivated to go see it.
One day you will see it because you cannot resist forever.baggs wrote:

They're definitely polarised, I tested them.Burwhale wrote:

They are circular polarised: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealD_Cinema

Not really. Much of the light from the sky is polarised. This light contains UV and so having polarised sunglasses helps with this.PrivateVendetta wrote:

Cool answer, That explains it.Dilbert_X wrote:
