Tony Abbott is again calling for an election.

Shut. The fuck. Up.

Yeah we get it, the status quo changed and so Gillard doesn't have to force through Wilkie's poker machine reforms - which were bleeding support for her Government. What would Tony have done I wonder? The Coalition came out and blatantly said that it wouldn't have anything to do with Wilkie's reforms in the first place, now they're suggesting he fulfill his promise of leaving the Labor Government and support them instead. Why in fuck's name would he do that? And shut the fuck up about the Government once again showing that they are untrustworthy when the only reason this situation came about was because the Coalition and Peter Slipper couldn't trust each other and the Government was smart enough to take advantage of that. All this at a time when the Coalition can't even agree on the matter of car manufacturing subsidies too.

Cut this shit out where politicians can only change their minds or make up policies at election time. It's stupid and childish. Situations change. People and parties adapt to deal with these changes. Like Wilkie who will no doubt adapt and work towards a compromise with the Government instead of siding with the Coalition just because of what he said over a year ago - why? Because it wouldn't fucking benefit him and it would be stupid and childish. Of course Tony would advocate for throwing a tantrum and accomplishing nothing because that's all he seems to be able to do.

Untrue, he can call for one whenever he likes.

He'll look like a total dick if his manifesto is 'um, er, the opposite of whatever theirs is'.

The only policy Abbott has told you about:

Work choices are dead, buried and cremated.

And that was a lie.

Doesn't alter the fact he actually has no policies.

It doesn't, the more he calls for an election when he has nothing to offer the more stupid he looks.
And compared with Gillard thats an achievement.

When it comes to actually making policy he'll just dredge up those from the Howard era. He doesn't seem to need policies, all he needs is criticisms, bitching and melodrama.

This latest quotes from him:

"...the carbon tax is a dagger aimed at the heart of manufacturing in Australia."

[the closing for BlueScope Steel's export blast furnace is] "...a disaster for our country"

Please Tony, get it together. Not only because it's fucking ridiculous but also because while he's talking about the doubt that the carbon tax brings he is yet to recognise that he is the cause for most of it. Industry can prepare for a carbon tax, and in terms of taxes the carbon tax is nothing compared to the pile of taxes Australia was dealing with under the Howard Government. What it can't prepare for it the doubt that calling for new elections every second week and claiming to dump every initiative that the Government comes up with. AND the continual insistence that one pretty insignificant tax is going to destroy the fucking country. Tony's a fucking prat who's quite content to cause as much damage as he can as long as it makes the Government look bad.

Edit:

I just want to add this:

"The first legislative act of an incoming Coalition Government should the carbon tax be finally in place would be its repeal"

If the Coalition wins Government with Abbot as PM I'm calling this as the new "there will be no carbon tax under a Government I lead".

Just listened to a report from Earnst and Young suggesting that steel producers cut output and put more effort into restructuring as a global oversupply of steel is leading to falling prices and other difficulties in the steel industry.

What it did not mention was anything about the steel industry wetting itself over a carbon tax. Funny that.

Proves that Tony Abbott knows as much about industry as he knows about fashionable swimwear. I can not get over how much of an ignorant tool this guy is.

We're in a situation where we have nothing but empty-headed career politicians who can do nothing but chair meetings and commission reports they won't then understand.

I think it'd be nice if the clubs industry would stop crowing and gloating over the corpse of Andrew Wilkie's plan for poker machine reform. Seems poor sportsmanship to me. Of course I shouldn't expect any more from an industry that is quite comfortable taking most of its income from people who can't afford it.

Tony Abbott is salivating after Wilkie withdrew his support for the Government. Apparently he's gone to Fair Work Australia to see when they'll be done investigating Craig Thomson. He's such a child; "I want it noooowww."

Craig Thomson is a fair target, if Gillard is supporting him to support herself she deserves to fall.
Not that Abbott is any better....

Gillard's an idiot and if Craig Thomson is found to be guilty it would be a fitting end to her Government.

On another note:

"Our school students are not performing as well as the rest of the country! Close down the schools!"

Tasmania...

(There is logic in this but I just thought it was a funny newspaper headline.)

A monkey in a suit would be less incompetent and more highly principled than Gillard.

More competent maybe but Abbott has no principles.

It wasn't my intention to suggest Abbott was principled, just that he could be marginally less unprincipled than Gillard, and about as principled as a monkey.

pretty despicable behaviour tbh. especially when it's pretty clear that they were incited by some pretty vitriloic garbage.

feel for the many aboriginal activists etc who actually do useful work behind the scenes while these dickheads go and trash their name and good deeds for the cameras.

Actually what I heard from all the Tent Embassy spokespeople who fronted the media was that the perpertrators of the violence were not part of the Tent Embassy group. Eh? They weren't? I think my favorite was a guy who said something along the lines of "look at the footage of the people banging on the windows; they didn't have dark skin."

Also one of the radio talkback guys from Sydney, Hardey I think his name was, was going on about how the protest was the most shameful thing in the history of Austalia. No kidding. I'm all for a bit of hyperbole but that's a bit ridiculous, especially considering Australia's colonial history with indigenous matters.

It was a dumb thing that happened. There seems to be a culture of just wanting to get pissed off for the sake of it. I heard what Abbott said, it was very measured and it was nothing others, including aboriginal advocates, hadn't said before. People just wanted a reason to get riled up and let emotion win over rationality. Just dumb.

Edit: Man the blame game has really started, the Tent Embassy realises tat the whole thing left them looking pretty damn bad.

'We are masters of our own destiny! We are independent! We stand up for ourselves! Oh, but that protest, yeah we were set up by the unions."

Do these people listen to themselves? Does no one have any sense of accountability?

Actually my opinion of Rudd has improved based on this, not that it was skyhigh, and how exactly did this footage come to be leaked by the government? Thats the real question.
