What is it like, I've only heard his collab with Netsky and it didn't sound as good as the demo, nor as good as it was at Brixton

this is why I listen to DnB, play DnB drums but never actually go to a DnB club.
The people who go to DnB nights are generally wankers, as confirmed by this thread.

i'd say most of my life-threatening experiences have nearly always happened near closing time of a dubstep/dnb club in central/south london. literally the scum of the earth.

Quick question dubsteppers, is Caspa considered to be good dubstep?
liquidat0r
wtf.

He's one of the producers responsible for bringing it to the mainstream (fabriclive 37 with Rusko) and he's part of the group of producers that made up the "original" London dubstep scene.

So yes, I'd say that his records are considered to be good dubstep. His newer stuff is probably more "cater to the masses" (like Rusko, I think). But that doesn't always mean it's not as good.

At least that's what I've been lead to believe through reading things here, there, and everywhere. I certainly don't call myself a dubstepper and am rather new to the whole of electronic music itself, tbh. My knowledge is limited, probably wrong/skewed, and I lack years of experience

caspa wasnt original dubstep scene

original 'mainstream' dubstep scene, circa 3-4 years ago, yes

original london dubstep scene were 2-step/garage/grime producers making crossovers

and his stuff is wholly unremarkable. they were shot out into popularity because of their close proximity to a few labels and club-nights in LDN. simple as that.

Why can't you just like what you want to like.

Because I've heard one song of his, and know practically nothing about dubstep so was curious as to what people thought of him. Reason I ask is he's playing at my Student Union in a few weeks and wondered if he was worth seeing.

i'd say any combination of 'dubstep' and 'student union' = night-in watching desperate housewives and having a wank

being in a crowd of students that think they're into cutting-edge electronic music makes me want to puke

Aren't you a student that's into cutting-edge electronic music, and don't you hang out with a crowd of people?

no, not really.

get off my dick for once? you're hilarious

i was spinning dubstep tunes at house parties back when most people would look disgusted and say 'wtf is this'

nowadays whenever i spin at parties i get asked to put on "some of that dubstep".

everyone's a fan all-of-a-sudden, innit

so i'll just carry on, playing aquacrunk

Because i've totall proved I'm a wanker by letting people know a liquid dnb album is out. The wankers are the chavs who only listen to pure jump up and disregard anything else, or the 15 year old kids who think dnb Is a totally new genre and chase and status' new tune is the be all and end all. I can probably quite safely say all the trouble zeek has had from people outside have been there for a jump up night of some sort.

No not at all seein as the one I went too wasn't rough, and wasn't jump up focused, it's just generally jump up nights that cause the most problems according to people I know who go to alot of them. Also, I'm no expert but I'd like to think I know alot more than some people about the genre.

Haven't ever had any problems at dupstep/garage/Jungle/reggae nights haven't had any trouble at DnB nights either although I can see how some people do.
