So my exams are almost over and I'm looking to play some CoD: MW2. Problem is my current headphones are pretty crap - I can't really hear footsteps nor where bullets are coming from. Can anyone recommend me a good pair? My needs are probably 80% gaming and 20% music.

I've looked into basic gaming-gear stuff like the Razer Carcharias (http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Carcharias- … B001PTH0VW) and the Steelseries Siberia V2, which are an improvement from the original Icemat Siberia which was pretty popular. However, I've heard that gaming headsets, while having a handy mic attached, tend to have awful sound. Can anyone clarify if they suck as much as head-fi tells me?

On the other hand, I've looked into entry-level audiophile headphones such as the Audio-Technica ATH- AD700 (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_3_14? … o+technica) which apparently has good soundstage? that will make picking enemies out by their sound much easier. However, there's no mic that comes with it, so I have to get a clip-on if I'm getting one of these - and I'm not sure about how clip-on mics are good at filtering out background noise.

Anyone able to help me on the road to auditory bliss?

I use a Logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset and personally it works great for me. I've been through two because I managed to fuck up my first one somehow. It's a good headset if you want something that's not too dominant which probably doesn't suit you.

Ty: Thanks for the tip. I've been using my cheapo-$20 Genius headset for a while, and I'm just not satisfied with the audio positioning and sound quality on those. So I'm now looking for something with a bit more oomph.

I'm off to my Econs A-levels now. Wish me luck!
