Thank God my holidays are almost over, I feel ashamed to say this but I almost didn't work out in the summer

working 10 hour shifts at a conveyor belt.. Stnading up the whole time, I just didn't have the energy to work out anymore after my shift. I had to get up at 4.30am aswell, so I couldn't go in the morning aswell.

now, I posted my meal plan a few pages back, and tweaked it with you guys' advice.

however I'll be back in the gym next week, problem is how my 'ideal' 3-day split looked, anyone care to help me?
I was thinking this:

Monday:  Chest/Biceps
Wednesday: Back/Legs (Can't stress my legs very hard w/ my knee injury anyway, so should be fine)
Friday: Shoulders/Traps/Triceps

Today is Shoulders/Tri

I HATE doing triceps, mainly because all of the exercises don't seem as solid as others. I just can't 'feel' the exercises as much as I'd like too...

Dumbbell One-Arm Triceps Extensions are one of my favourite.
If you support your arm with your other hand, you concentrate the movement to just tricep movement rather than whole arm. Try it.
You can really feel the muscle moving under your hand as well.

There's this stomach machine in my gym, a bar with pads crosses your chest and sits on your pecs, and you have to lean forwards to lift the weights.. I can do 60KG easy on it, but when I try situps it absolutely kills me.. is the machine crap or am I doin' it rong?

I've tried loads of them...
I generally don't get much out of the first two either, but the one arm standing tri extension and decline tri extension should definitely work them with proper form. Another one that I really like is sort of like skullcrushers (basically the decline tri extension) but a little different. It's essentially a laying down version of the one arm dumbell extension, only you do it laying down on a bench and with both arms. So you should be taking it from behind your head, and then straightening your arms and lifting it to directly horizontal with your head. I find it a little easier to keep good form this way than with the standing one.

what i've been recently doing irish is to throw my tricep workout on the end of my chest workout, its the only way i can really kill them good

i usually finish up my chest routine, do some tricep dips but lean in a little bit and hit the chest some more, do some skull crushers and then pressup sets to failure, again hitting chest but really fucking off my triceps.

Did the 150 today.
Meant to be done in 10mins and then repeated after 10mins or so if you're doing it properly.

I did it once in 22mins, lighter floor sweeps, and a lighter clean and press.

Yeah i know what you mean mate. I'll try alternate chest-tri this day next week and see how it goes. Chest and tricep exercises are so 'inter-linked' it'll prob fuck me up, lezdoit.

If you're just starting out, Zimm and Sonder reckon it's best to get everything on the same day iirc. But you should def. leave at least a days rest if you do that.
Then when you've built a bit of a base of muscle, you can start concentrating the workouts.

I've learned that compounds/full body is a great way to start working out, to adapt your body to working out etc.

Having different muscle groups gives me the opportunity to really work one/two part(s) of my body into oblivion and then gives me more or less a week to recover, while I work out other muscle groups.

I see.

I'll just stick with what I'm doing then, which is 5 mins 8kp/h warm up jog, 15 mins interval training on recumbent bike, then onto weights, focusing on arms/pecs if there's any area I do more than other. Gonna give that stomach machine a skip today though, it's kinda useless, gonna go for actual situps to get my abs done.
