Best ones are the ones adjusted to your feet. Everyone has different feet.

Get yourself in somewhere that is reputable and employs gait analysis, i know that DW Sports are a multinational store thats started to use it but i still wouldn't trust their staff to use the technology correctly

high reps = endurance, no so much with strength or size.

I wouldn't work out every day either.
Also, Squats with 10lb weights? Is that bar + 20lbs? And you do the whole thing listed under upper body in the same day, three times a week?

If you're going for bulk, I wouldn't have thought that would be right.

Nah i'm not going for bulk. Just a bit of definition and overall healthiness. I wanna be able to perform and do what i need to without struggle.

My squats aren't with a bar, you just stand up straight and squat down. Repeat x1000 times.

Yes i want endurance. That's why im not going for massive weight.

You burn fat more effectively if you run after you lift.

Did a midnight workout just now. Getting ready to DL 94kg and decided to wait one minute. 30 seconds later one of my housemates bolts through under the house to use the toilet (he had been out drinking and needed to go REALLY badly, under the house is part of the drive which opens on the the street) and narrowly misses my gym equipment, he had to actually jump over the BB I had set out ready to do the DL with. Hate to think what would've happened had I been lifting at the time

For anyone else who hates the taste of tinned tuna, I've been mixing mine with a splash of mustard, ketchup and balsamic vinegar and it tastes great.

I missed a workout yesterday but that's because I dug up my lawn and put 2 tonne of gravel on it, then had football for an hour and a half later so I did a fair bit of work

So after months of arsing around in the gym, I've finally started the SL5x5.

How much does an olympic bar weigh? I hope like 50kg otherwise my numbers are embarrassing.

If it is a regular Olympic bar, it weighs 20.5 kg.

45lbs

does anyone have any experience in training vertical jump? would the SL5x5 be a good place to start for someone who's never done strength training?

In that case I managed 40kg benchpress and squat, and 30kg barbell row. How do you get around squats being super uncomfortable on the back of your neck?

Do four to six weeks of quality strength training (the SL5x5 or something similar) and then integrate plyometric exercises into your workout.

Basically you just have to adapt to it. You can use a pad, but it reduces the stability of the lift. You also can hold the bar on your upper back if you so desire, which changes the focus of the lift slightly from the quads to the glutes.

Edit: Some bars have a strong metallic smell, lol. Is the one you are using black, by any chance?
