I read a story a while back about a vegan couple that killed their baby by feeding it only soy milk. They felt that breast milk was off limits as it came from an animal. Formula was just the evil corporations attempt at controlling their child. Some people just are unfit to be parents.

And it's not like the African situation isn't upsetting. Why should the existence of one problem not effect you emotionally when another one comes up? Each are disturbing. .. and there have been plenty of threads about starving kids/Darfur. This story is local to me and is relatively unbelievable.

Whenever there is a thread here about one guy doing one bad thing once in his life, we get 30 posts of everyone clamoring to kill this guy, and that's it. There are dozens of threads exactly the same laying around the forums. They are all the same shit, 30 posts of people saying they want to kill this guy, no real debate or discussion or anything substantial at all, and then the thread dies and no one ever sees it again because of how lame it was.
Well it is local to me and so it is especially touching. People make a distinction of safety and normalcy based on where they live. I think it's important to realize that these thing do happen everywhere. We tend to get in a mindset that says oh' that's those other people, or "it's Africa, what do you expect". There was a discussion here, but it's obviously escaped you. What drives people to do this? The parents had raised other, healthy kids before. How is it possible that no other adults knew? Is neglect the same as torture? The thread becomes lame when people like you come in here and shit with your preconceived notions of what is thread-worthy or otherwise. Luckily you don't make that decision. Perhaps you can go find another thread that suits you better. I hear EE chat is accepting all applications.
