Ignoring the absurdity of sentencing children to life imprisonment, there are enough mitigating circumstances in this case that this woman should never have to face such a sentence.
The article doesn't say much, but assuming that she had the possibility of reporting the crimes to the police, she certainly deserves a sentence of some kind, though absolutely nowhere near life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.

Although most of us know going to the Police would have aided her significantly, her at age 16 and being fucked up for the last 10 years and with I assume no education wouldn't have known that. Give her a break.
