Test your ping chimps: http://www.pingtest.net/
https://www.pingtest.net/result/174888.png
getting better and better...wtf

btw menzo you were saying?...

So according to pingtest I have packet loss.

https://www.pingtest.net/result/160418.png

Never had an issue before but I recently moved from XP to Win7 and replaced the older Netgear router with a newer wireless, also Netgear router (but on wired connection). I believe that's why I get graphic glitches in BF2- some renders simply don't load because they get lost during packet exchange, even if I manage to load it without glitches I get incredible lag and ping goes sky-high. BF2 worked fine with the new router on XP. Are there any services that are communicating with the Internet while I'm playing?

Thanks for any help

Run -> cmd -> ipconfig /release -> ipconfig /renew -> Try again?

Only thing I can think of on the top of my head.

so you went from xp -> win7, nothing else changed (you said you tried xp on the new router)

run a traceroute from 7. i can't imagine the stack is all that different, but i haven't seen it yet.

connected the old wired router and still get packet loss. Tried pinging on my netbook with XP and got packet loss there too. Ping is extremely high. I usually ping 20-25 to Vienna. Also in my router log it said "DoS attack..." several times.

yeah, do the traceroute - if you are the one being attacked, you wouldn't be posting.

sounds like it - you posted "DDoS", they fuck with everyone's connections . . .

it looks fine to me - it's basically listing the hops a packet takes to a destination.
if a DDoS attack was happening along the way, you'd see it with trace route.

I think it should look something like this; all of the pings should be fairly consistent. At least, this is what it looks like to me, when I ping bf2s.com

EDIT - Never mind, I realized .Sup is in a different region of the world, so the pings make sense.

Ok thanks for your help guys. I will try connecting the wireless router again tomorrow and see if its really a router issue. But I don't think it is. I got packet loss with the wired router too minutes after I made it connect with the PC but then it suddenly started working normal, even the pings were okay.

O lol this test doesn't even work very well. Stupid russians have shitty conenctions for example. Can easily get 3% package losses in couple servers, and 70ms jitter. Then take quality server and 1ms jitter and no package loss.

pick a non Russian server that is close to you to do the test then

Pinged Norway server and said jitter is 80ms and package loss 3%. Then did the same on same server, 0% package loss and 0ms jitter.

Conclusion: test is epic fail.
