Hi! I am able to play v1.03 multiplayer fine, but since there are only 5-6 servers, I patched to v1.41. I am able to run singleplayer on v1.41, but whenever I try to login with an online account, it says connecting to account server for about 5 seconds then crashes to desktop. I am aware that this has probably been asked many times, but I cannot find a fix for it.

You might need to delete your favourites, either in BF2 or via the 'General.con' file.
Patch to 1.5
Patched to 1.5, same exact problem.
