Muse has fallen, the once nutty rock gods have been bashed into a boy band. Their new album has 2 songs that are ok but everything else sounds like a boy band or like queen! They will never be as good as classic muse

Sold out? Methinks you don't understand the album. "sell out" albums dont contain symphonies, mmkay?

As one of the iTunes reviews said, it's a dedication to their influences. Do a bit of reading on their roots and then listen through the album again.

So what you're saying is that it's different.

how is the new muse album 'different' from any prog-rock album released in the 70's/80's? it's not innovative, it's the opposite. it's a throwback.

and it's not very good. it's very ambitious. but it's just not very good.

Haven't listened to much new Muse but just because a band changes it's style a bit doesn't mean it's "ruined" or "sold-out" or "been bashed into a boy band". Bands don't always stick to the same style, the ones who do quickly find that their songs become too similar and repeditive. My favourite band, known mostly for hard rock bordering on thrash, last year released an album that can most easily be described as Pop-Rock.

Band who did this,
also did this.

I mean c'mon, like I said I haven't listened to much new Muse but I'm sure the transition isn't quite this dramatic. And even if it is, Muse is still better than so much of the crap out there.

That usually happens, new albums usually only have a few good songs, and the rest suck.

That's why I stick to the old albums.

Muse's new album is the only one that I've listened to and I think it's brilliant.  ¯\(°_o)/¯

The only Muse song I ever listen to is Knights of Cydonia, which is fairly good (though not top-notch).

at the end of the day I did remark that a couple of the songs were "queen-ish" but I can't run from the fact they sound like insync, maybe they sound a little like the culture club, it still sucks brass balls.

Don't knock Culture Club, they made one of the best songs to listen to while playing horribly violent computer games, (FUCK Drowning pool.)

It might work out that way.

Take Metallica for example. They had some great albums back in the 80's and 90's, then they came out with St. Anger, which sucked sweaty balls. Then they released Death Magnetic and sorta went back to their thrash metal roots.

So yea, it's hard to say.

<3 exo. Otherwise, yeah, there are some pretty avg. songs there. unnatural selection, eurasia are good (although I don't really like the big major harmony thing on the end of every verse)

It's a very indulgent album and i think a band of Muse's talent are entitled to make one ever so often. I do think it's a good album.
