You mean Sandybridge? No idea tbh... when AMD is getting Bulldozer ready?

e: Westmere is still i7.

Unless you are buying the $999 i7 980X, I see no reason to wait.

The next launch is 32nm dual cores and 6 core 980X. Launch in 2 months timeframe.

Holy shit *throws away some Noctua fans*

Amazing temp drops with other brand fans. 10c lower load temps for i7 when I jsut changed 2 case fans to the Lancool's stock 14cms with ULNA adapter.

That's why I'm running noiseblocker BlackSilent XLPs. Contrary to their name, they are kinda loud, but they do a way better job at keeping the CPU cool

The 14cm Yate Loons are a bit louder, but do move about twice the air. A bit too loud for my taste tho. Noctuas are not exactly silent in horizontal position either and are much better for cooling heatsinks than as case fans.

Atm I have a 12cm 1500rpm Yate Loon at 7V in my Xigmatek alone and it is doing fine job considering its inaudible. I'll look into some Scythe GentleTyphons and S-FLEXs now.

Little testing. I am kinda interested in the latest and greatest in PSUs atm. Seasonic X-650W which has ebst efficiency and best fancontroller so far. In fact the fan doesn't power on until over 30% load.

I love not being able to tell if my computer is on or not.

Yesterday I switched my monitors off when I went out. Came back home, hit the power button to fire it up, and shut it down.

Barely visible from my case location.

I can't hear my fans, and I don't have any LEDs (anymore).

I am abandoning the bling wagon completely. Getting a simplistic case with no leds.

Quite rare case abroad Northern EU... the Fractal Design R2.

In fact that pic has the GentleTyphoons and Seasonic X-650 I am looking for. Note the stock bitum matt.

Very simple exterior

Almsot like P182.

E: Oh and try to guess the price of that case ithout googling it up.... you'll be surprised...

Nice case, looks alot like a Lian-li PC-B10 with improved cable management and 2 top fans, the price seems nice too. Cant get fractal in NA though.

WAY ahead of you.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I think its a bit too small for my taste. Fractal can take even HD 5870 CF and about 10 HDDs.

e: not getting 5870s tho, but GF100s.

I'm a big fan of their cases. In fact I have one and its the best built case I have ever owned. Better build quality than my 200€ CM Stacker.
