If they ship it with that as is said in the link, I'm very impressed.

Early proto -> likely to change. Don't expect to see it, but instead some less rough on the edges

Yo wanna know why? The fins are too clsoe each other, dust will be great issue. -> Intel praises reliability -> Intel will not use that.

Besides... its time to get a fracking better cooler for 999 bucks lol.

What I hate about most fans now-a-days, is the core is very fat, but the fans very short. Wouldn't it be more efficient to have longer fans, and a thinner centre?

That equals a smaller and louder motor.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Brother just bought a 14' geenu with a 8hp Johnson.  Has to back it off at 25 knots (Porpoises too much)..Small and loud, but it gets us into the slews.  And quick too.  Where am I? oh.

Gonna reformat in the next week or so. Should I go RAID 0 with my two WD 80GB HDDs?

sure, if you're not worried about what's on them.

Nope. I've got a 1TB for data and a 320GB for backups. RAID array would only be for programs.

raid 0 would be a good use, better a 160 partition than two 80's . . .

Wireless cards:
Would a 802.11n be compatible with everything? (backwards compatible?) Or would it have to be 802.11 a/g/n to be safe?

yes, but the speed will be only the highest number of the slowest link.  for example: 802.11n laptop will only connect at 11 mbs to a 802.11b access point.

Fuck. Monitor started making loud semi-high pitched electronic noise, and Enermax PSU's fan is making lots of bearing noise and some additional, very annoying noise like something sliding against something, (suspecting bearings even more)

FUUUUUUUUUUCK. And I don't even have time to RMA this stuff now as going to Asia in a week or so...

My laptop keeps freezing with zero response.  And its really common now, its driving me nuts.

All that happens is I can hear my HDD making noises and then if I mash buttons on the keyboard it gets louder.  Eventually if I keep doing it, it get more frequent and sometimes unfreezes.  Once or twice (this has been happening for about 4 or 5 days now) I've seen an error message about my display driver.  I've tried uninstalling the display driver and reinstalling and it didn't work.

The weird thing is, when I reinstalled the driver I couldnt get my full resolution   Then a Windows Update showed up and said it was an update from 12/12/2009, which I think is the day it started doing this.  So, what I gather from this is I cant get my full resolution without having crashes every 20 mins.. Any ideas?

Probably some of your hardware dying.

Eh Panzer, have you got any input on my CPU dilemma in the other thread?

And can't you bring your stuff with you, and RMA it IN Asia?

Anything more specific than that?  The laptop is less than a year old
