Yeah, even called support and they said its a hardware failure. Awesome. Extensive googling revealed that it´s a common problem with the MX 1000.
sounds like you're getting yours in small doses - mine worked flawlessly, until it didn't work at all . . .
I've had an MX1000 for something like 6 years (I bought it when it had just come out, whenever that was). I've never had any problems. So nope, no ideas.Sisco wrote:
So, my MX1000 arrived yesterday and it freezes up once an hour or so. Have to unplug the USB and plug it back in. Any of you got any ideas what could cause this?
Also, where did Hibernate go? Or has it never been there?
I used to put my PC on Sleep most nights because it takes an annoyingly long time to boot up (it hangs on the windows logo screen for about 5mins). From Sleep, it's near enough instant. But now Sleep doesn't work properly in that it turns itself completely off during the night at some point and then gives me the "windows didn't shut down correctly, start in safe mode?" screen. Sucks.
I'm thinking about buying a new hard drive (new hard drive is unrelated ... maybe I'll get an SSD) and reformatting, might fix things.

Ah, shit.
I mailed the shop I ordered it from, they should give me another one, if they can´t replace it. Still, very annoying.

sleep is standby + hibernate, it goes to standby for a few hours and after a while it goes to a hibernate like state
I don't think that's true at all, menzo.
In the past I've put my PC on Sleep and left it for more than 24 hours. When I come back it resumes instantly at a slight movement of the mouse. Takes about 10 seconds for me to be back at my desktop. Which is the PC coming out of Sleep mode, not coming out of hibernation.

Is the above a reliable source for PSU calculations? Trying to see if my 650W PSU can handle crossfired 5850s. The above link seems to think so without worry, and antec has the same calculator on their website.

Looks a lot like one I've used in the past. 650W should be alright. Wouldn't put anything more on it, you're probably at the edge of what it can juice.
Providing it's a named brand, btw.

Anyone happen to have exp points on this one or a similar thingy?
