Isn't the hard plastic annoying compared to a mx518?Ilocano wrote:

I meant the base of it, there is rubber coating on the sides of a mx518 (where your thumb rests)Uzique wrote:

So I spilled some coffee on my g11 keyboard not too long ago.. unplugged, washed, let dry.
Everything works fine except my 'n' and spacebar key. Is there any further poking or prodding that I can do to try and get these two keys working? I popped them off and tried to clean a bit inside of them, it didn't do much.
I'm about to take the back casing off. Is there any sort of cleaning or something that I should do around those areas?

A thin plastic film with 2 main layers that send signals through ribbon cables.

not much thicker than a piece of paper. Just tap on it and electrical signals are sent into a little pc board and through the usb cable.

I took it apart completely as above and those keys still weren't working. I washed that thin sheet through the sink in my bathroom and let it dry thoroughly. Works like a charm now. Piecing it back together.

really, bevo? i heard that disassembling the g110/g15 was a fucking nightmare... washing the membrane and then letting it dry actually fixed it? i only spilled water on mine in the first place, so i can't see that anything would have 'stuck' to create the broken and sticking keys. if that works then i may actually try it sometime... waste of a £80 keyboard, otherwise!Bevo wrote:

I still use another MX518 on my work laptop, but I game with the G500. Gets sweaty on the MX518. Never really thought about it on the G500.FloppY_ wrote:

Ayup. Putting it back together is proving to be a bit of a hassle.. but otherwise from what I can tell it works perfectly now. If you had issues with just a couple of keys then I would give it a shot if you've got some spare time. Just clean off those spots on the membrane and dry it off and give it a go. It's easy to check to see if it works because you can directly dry it and plug it in without messing with the keys or anything - just plug in the ribbon cables and the usb connector and tap away.Uzique wrote:

I carry the mouse around a lot, between uni and home and apparently under the wrapping is a cheap plastic coating and it broke right outside the mouse.Uzique wrote:
mx518 or the g5. the g5 isn't crap - how did you break the cord? my wrapped cable cord seems indestructible.
sounds like a problem with the user, tbh, not the mouse.
I had that in my hand in a shop one day, feels anything but right imoFFLink wrote:

Also it has a cord. Bu thanks for the tip anyways.
I owned it back when it was called the MX Revolution and actually traded it in for the G5. The sensivity was totally crap for gaming, like shoving a pregnant cow over a frozen lakeWinston_Churchill wrote:
