Shaw only exists on the west coast so doesnt really help 75% of Canada.
Also, all of the ISPs here have heavy, heavy limiting on pretty much everything. Torrent ports have obviously been limited for ages, but so have VPN and SSH connections. Its utter bullshit.
The only competition the major ISPs had (Bell and Rogers) was these third party resellers since they could offer unlimited and high caps. But now that they've knocked them out of business there is absolutely no competition whatsoever, so we're destined to have the same third-world internet for a lot longer.
Seriously, seems the CRTC is as corrupt as UTSU these days.
I like pie.
so i spilled a decent amount of water on my desk today... everything seemed fine after the initial mopping up
now my sound keeps going (speaker module is on desk and was wet) and my logitech g15 keyboard has stopped responding altogether

that sucks, was everything on when you spilled it?
everything on my desk yeah... lucky the water didn't go the other way or it would have gone straight through the 120mm top-fan on my case and onto my mobo. instead it just spilled onto the surface of my keyboard and my speaker module... the keyboard carried on working for like 2 hours but i guess the water dripped down onto the actual gel-membrane and now it's fucking with shit. first some keys stopped working, or sticking; or random key presses would go off even though my hands weren't on the keyboard... now it doesn't work at all.Dauntless wrote:

logitech forum recommended disassembling the keyboard and drying out the membrane but i cant be fucked. just put the whole thing on the radiator. DEAL WITH IT. might just get a cheapy mechanical keyboard for essay-typing and do away with all this 'gaming peripheral' bollocks. can't say i ever used the lights, the macro-keys nor the screen all that often, anyway.

Open it up. Place it in container of dry rice. Rice soaks up the water.
Problem, electricity?

I hope to hell this UBB bullshit is never implemented in Canada.
if you left it on for a while after it might not work, i did the same thing with my G15, only it was pear cider, so it was also sticky
was it the old blue version G15? they don't make 'em like that anymore...

because the longer it's on the better the chance the water inside fries a circuit.
My ISP's only response to the CRTC's decision is a message in extremely small font at the bottom of the packages and pricing page:FloppY_ wrote:

"As of March 1, 2011, monthly service fees will increase." God only knows how much it's gonna go up
Thankfully the liberals, ndp, and conservatives are all against this. Apparently theyre making an official position on it this weekebug9 wrote:

(fingers crossed)
@zique - water technically doesnt damage electronics if theyre not powered on, its when they are powered on and get wet thats a problem. thats why you unplug any wet electronics or turn them off immediately and leave them to dry in rice for a day or two
or bake them

I don't see how the CRTC can follow through with the idea when the majority of Canada's political parties are against it.
meh, theyre not even a real party
Goddamn, I would hate if someone limited my 100/100 connection.

Had to buy a new hard drive for my porn Steam games.. Copying from a 500GB to a 2TB.
Ribena leaked in my bag one day where my macbook was- Lucky enough I had the first gen aluminium macbook- So i ripped the battery out like a mother fucker.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

Rinsed it out with various liquids and cloths -- Let it dry for about 3 weeks - Turned it on - Monitor didn't work. Fuck. Pulled out the battery again -- Took it COMPLETELY apart - Washed all the wires and shit -- got rid of all the sticky shit -- Put it back together - And YES! IT WORKS!
Only thing is i forgot to connect the bass speaker back onto the mobo and cbf re-opening it. XD -- The tweeter works well enough. Or headphones.
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
put it in a giant bag of rice .. jk but that is what you should do if you get water into a portable device.Uzique wrote:

I disasmbled my logitech g15 once and put it back together (trying to fix a finicky loose wire) .. horrible mistake. Never worked again.

I use a program called teracopy for huge file transfers between hard drives and it seems to work faster. You can also pause, which might come in handy for you. Small proggy.tazz. wrote:
