Seriously?? Heh, it must be different over there. Everyone around here is obsessed with the iPhone. Every family must have 5, and buy a new one every 6 months when the latest model comes out.
RIM HQ is like... 1.5 hours from here. So yeah, BBs are massive here
I have a BB and I'm not cool
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
And considering I'm near (but not really) Silicon Valley...
Is this a good (enough) setup for a HTPC? (It better be because I already have 60% of the parts and just ordered the others )
Antec 300

1TB Samsung F1

Overkill for an HTPC tbh
I have an opportunity to apply to them for co-op. Shouldidoit?Winston_Churchill wrote:

i can't imagine this to be a wasted opportunity - handheld devices, especially from an established provider, have huge upside . . .
Only things I bought were the HDD, case and DVD drive... everything else I already had and was just collecting dust in my cupboardebug9 wrote:

Absolutely. That would be an amazing thing to have on your resume lolebug9 wrote:

It will be just fine then.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

Before you get too excited that there is display connector too and Intel logo and it looks like graphics card, it really is HPC computing unit Knights Ferry, not Larrabee. Larrabee is dead.

I used to get more flirtatious smiles when I was using my BB. Not so much now with my EVO. Just doesn't convey that high-powered exec image.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
Just did some wire tucking. Not a whole lot of room in this Cooler Master Elite 370, but it's a pretty decent case, if not a bit tight to work inside.
Here's the finished product.
Here I would actually like some feedback. I noticed this little notch in my GTX460 that was big enough to fit the wrapped cables for the CPU power plugs through so I decided to take advantage of it. Before I had the cables going over the GPU itself and the cable was quite taught. My only worry is that MAYBE it might get too hot? I don't know. It's not close to the GPU heatsink pipes like it was before, so this must be a cooler spot. What do you guys think, though? Or have I just pulled a noob and discovered something that really should have been plainly obvious?
The case itself... I'd like to put some color (in paint) and/or a design (in vinyl) across it, but I'm not sure what at this point. Anyone care to offer any ideas/inspiration?

Routing your wires under the GPU is a good idea in your case. You don't have to worry about them melting or anything. More zip ties would make the whole thing look cleaner but your airflow should be pretty good already

I've zip tied everything I pretty much could. I know I could do more, but I want to add stuff later on so this way it's a touch more accessible. The rest has gotten stuffed underneath behind the HDDs, though, as you can see. Just not any room elsewhere for it. Thanks for the positive feedback.
It's a looks thing. It can look better, but it won't perform better. Some people are anal about their insides. I just want everything to stay cool.
If possible, flip over the PSU so it can assist in pulling out the hot air from the GPU

Agreed. It'd be nice to have everything sexy, but then whenever I had to perform maintenance or upgrades it'd be a bitch to work on. I'll take a look at that PSU idea. It is possible - I almost did it while I was doing the work today but wasn't sure if it would actually bring me anything.max wrote:

And get a cooler for that hexacore lol.
My BB was feeling pretty hot and I noticed its battery was considerably low, even though I charged it all last night while I slept. Turned it off for a little while. They seem like the kind of phones you never need to turn off, or put them in standby. But should I reboot them once a week or something?
James, you want my BB?
James, you want my BB?
I will likely do that eventually, but the CPU doesn't really get that hot. Not sure how I would go about taking the cooler off anyway - I tried to give it a small tug after I put it on just to test and the thing is on there pretty tight. The heatsink had this adhesive-type of thermal paste on there, too.Finray wrote:

Left, Creative Zen, 6 years old, 20GB HDD, music only, massive battery, very heavy, non-colour screen. right, Creative Zen, 4GB Flash memory, SD slot (supports up to 16GB SD cards), full-colour screen, does video and music, 5 hours video playback, 25 hours audio playback.
I still think the one on the left is cooler
