you're a retard. when are they gonna take the tech-team badge off you? all you do is copy+paste shit from other sites and think you're smart
also, sony vaio's are way shittier than the brand/exterior leads you to believe. mine felt cheap, and it certainly fucking wasnt.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
The WDTV Live Plus allows you to plug in drives and actually play other stuff thats not from Netflix too. The iTV doesnt have codec support for like 95% of video out there...Ilocano wrote:
It's Apples second version of their AppleTV media streaming box. Old box sold for $299. New box is $99. It part of Apples new push to offer rental TV and movie programs via iTunes. Video streaming to consumers as the iPod is to music.
I believe only the latest WD TV incarnation, the WD HD Live Plus HD does Netflix. But it does not have Netflix Text searches like the Roku.

Fyi, I do post a lot of good information, and help a lot of people.. Oh and I sometimes tongue-in-cheek bash Apple. Who doesn't? Personally you can QQ all you want and try to get in my head but I do deserve the badge and you saying otherwise ain't gonna take it away from me

everyone thinks it's a joke, finray.
since getting the badge you've become all holier-than-thou and I R AUTHORITY in every thread. your tone has changed significantly. it's funny.
most people get by just fine without becoming the worst kind of internet stereotype with apple-bashing, tyvm. "i went to the apple store today and used a MBP, it was a very nice piece of technology". maybe if you weren't so poor and didn't act like the sad fuck staring in the shopwindow from the cold street, your jokes would be 'funny'.

While I strongly disagree I'm not going to continue clogging up this thread, because a) you're wrong and b) you can't accept it.
hahaha yes im wrong about countering your "apple sux lolol get it? funny joke rite" crap.
and yes you are massively qualified to be on the tech-team.
jesus you and your brother are such a pair. less-than A-Level qualifications and you stride around like cambridge Compsci grads.

Get a room you two. Either way, Apple bashing on this product is pretty justified. Both of their versions of an Apple TV have been pretty horrible. Their first one was a total flop and this one is completely crippled by the fact that you cant plug in any drive to play media off of it. Plus if you wanted to stream it from your iTunes you cant play XviD, the most popular codec for video there is. And it has a severely crippled ability to play H.264 encoded files.
Most 720p content you find on the internet is done with Profile 4.1 and NEVER with AAC. Especially at 160Kbps. Terrible audio quality and video that needs transcoding to play, resulting in significant quality loss. Plus it looks like you have the added convenience of having to change the container to m4v, mp4 or mov. I'd call that a failure in my book.H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
very nice analysis... but where in that description am i seeing anything 'exclusive', in the consumer-sense.
restrictive in terms of playback, maybe . $99? that's a night out.

well but they did tact off $40 on the ipod for the macbook+ipod touch deal since the announcement for the new ipod touch, but either way, I got a 32gb ipod touch for $100! haven't used it yet, because I have a 16gb 3gs... lol, I want to leave it in my truck but it doesn't have 3g for pandora radio and i would have to take it out everytime to sync new songsalexb wrote:
They were giving the iPods away with MacBooks so that they could get rid of their stock in preparation for the new iPod Touches. I'm glad I bought my 32GB, the newer ones have pointless upgrades that I would rarely use for a larger price difference.=NHB=Shadow wrote:

Actually Shadow, you could jailbreak it and put the wifi sync app onto it. Then you can sync from your driveway.
What do you mean 'exclusive'? Anything you can get on the iTunes you can get anywhere else other than some podcasts, which I doubt people watch on their TV.
$99 for the system? Some of the similar systems that provide much, much more power and abilities are only $20-30 more, and some are even cheaper.
I would compare something like this to releasing a smartphone that doesnt have browser capabilities. Its completely crippled and for no good purpose whatsoever.

PSP and BlackBerry are my mp3 players
I own two iPod Touch 32GB 3rd Gen. They are definitely excellent machines for what they are designed to do. But I still prefer my Zune for music, and my Evo for everything else pocketable.
