Nearly everytime I show someone (mainly people who are PC-dumb) the wonders of CCleaner, I end up with >16GB of various crap outside of recycle bin removed...
I'm addicted to CCleaner. I probably run it like 3 times a day, and do a registry clean up once a day or two. I know running it more doesn't accomplish a whole lot, but I can't stop doing it. WTF is wrong with me.
Next you'll discover Defraggler, and then there'll be no stopping you!
Kinda useless in Vista/7.. they auto defrag. I had this install .. installed for like 9 months, and I had 2% defragmentation when I ran a check.liquidat0r wrote:

lemme know when 2tb's of SSD storage for my music is cost-effective.Sup wrote:
people still defrag? Oh yeah not everyone can afford an SSD
as it stands i aint paying £3k just for storage. i could buy all the music in vinyl for that sorta money . . .

I was just kidding. Ordinary HDDs are still best for storage. But seriously I haven't defragged any of my HDDs since I got an SSD. Everything is so fastUzique wrote:

Used to do a defrag once a week or so, but have been lazy lately, only once every few weeks or a month.
I use jkdefrag. Is there anything better? It seems to work pretty well for me.

I never defrag Should I?
what's good imaging software? not really happy with acronis...
Xp can easily be set to auto defrag as well, and it can be turned off in vista/7. Just about any program is going to be better than the built in one. I have defraggler set to auto defrag my main disk.Finray wrote:

Have you gentlemen laid your eyes on the new Intel SSD roadmap? It looks extraordinarily promising.
I was going to recommend Acronis.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

But these days, I use Windows Home Server to image my PC's. Will probably try Server 2008 sometime soon.
Isn't MyDefrag the name of the newest version?mtb0minime wrote:

Awesome new program I found:
Subsonic - it takes all the music on your computer/server that you specify and makes it available for streaming in a very clean, user friendly UI. One of the best things about it is they have iOS and Android apps so you can stream your music to your phone, eliminating the need to put all of your songs on it. I've been using it on our server (shared between liq, zimmer and I) for a few weeks now and its great. It allows you to set custom permissions for users (you can make separate accounts for different people with logins/passwords etc) so they can stream/download/upload music depending on how much you trust them Also, they're planning on adding video streaming support soon
