No one wants a shot at getting some Karma? Only a select few have gotten Karma by me the last year or so, you know. It's an honour.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
that's apparent - your like a Scot with money with your karma. oh look, your last karma came from a Scot . . .Freezer7Pro wrote:

Ok I could care less about the karma but you reseated the middle circuit board and replaced the big white capacitor along with cleaning up some wiring. If theirs anything else I missed sorry but thats just the obvious stuff.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Those are pretty much the 'non-fixing' changes I made. But you still missed the thing that resurrected the beast. You are on the right track, though.dill13 wrote:

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.
Kinda cool FF addon I just found and like quite a bit
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5890/
(Doesnt work with some FF versions, need to allow unverified addons, this one works for me http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/_treestyle … n#download)
It changes your tabs to a Tree Style tab bar on the side, I find it really convenient since it keeps all the tabs I have from one site together.

Fuuuuuck! Windows did some update today, and suddenly seems to have realised that it's not genuine, 7 months after installing it. Anyone know if there's a fix once MS have figure out your OS is bogus?

Yeah fuck that. I'll probably just reinstall it and then not let it install the update that broke it. Or go Linux.
Will it allow you to activate it? Or is it just bitching that it's a non-genuine version?
Yeah tried to re-activate it and it just keeps going on about being non-genuine. In a way I'm actually quite impressed with Microsoft that they've actually managed to fix these loopholes. On the other hand, it's quite inconvenient.
If you choose to activate via telephone, it'll give you a big long code that you have to enter. If that doesn't work, it'll forward you to an actual person (likely in India). Tell them you're trying to re-install your operating system and the key didn't work. Tell them you've only installed the OS on one PC and they should give you the activation code. It may be a long and painful process but you'll have a fully activated Win7 that you can update. If the rep refuses, call again and hope you get a different one
Edit: Tell them you're a student, it might help your credibility

It's not like an OEM version is expensive... and it's not like you are paying for Vistaghettoperson wrote:

Apparently I'm not allowed to mention certain websites. In that case, if anyone is interested it's perfectly simple to fix.

advocating software piracy and software piracy sites!
indeed asking for help in the act of piracy, real smooth.
you gonna ask for help moving the body next?
The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
I just don't think he realises that if BF2s.com became known as a "warez" site, Jeff could get sued for hosting copyright violating material...Stubbee wrote:

Built my friend a computer. He got the Asus Rampage III Extreme motherboard. Overclocked his i7 920 to 4.0 ghz at 1.25 volts. That mobo is so nice and awesome and easy.
Yea, I built as system for a guy with that board. Its fucking super sweet.Computer_Guy wrote:

Oh get the fuck over yourself. It wasn't a link or anything like that it was just a mention of their site and the fact that they were helpful.Stubbee wrote:

My Father needs a new computer, and I want to give him mine. He says he doesn't want to lose his work. He's got four years worth of work on it.
Basically, I told him I can put his HDD in the new computer so he can keep his information but have a new PC plus my 2 HDDs which are 750GB. Is that ok? I just plug his old HDD in the PC, and get it as the first boot device in the BIOS. He'd keep all his information? Then if he wants to transfer it to a backup HDD, I can just select the files and CTRL-C + CTRL-V into the other HDDs?
I don't really have any doubts but he was very insistent that if I screwed up he was totally fucked.

Yes, yes, yes.
Thanks
Here's another thing. I've been working as a computer technician for a while now for friends. Only problem is now I've fell upon an old laptop, about 7cm thick xD It's an old toshiba, and she wants me to format it. It has Windows 98, so she wants me to format and then install XP. It's got 40mb of RAM
I really don't know what I can do. So I'm trying to format this thing, it's not reading the Vista disk (which I want to just use the first part to format then quit the installation). It's not detecting the Vista disk. So I'm going to try a Windows XP disk from a friend.
I went into the MS-DOS and tried FORMAT C: and it formatted 100% then recuperated the shit I formatted
I don't know what to do, I'm assuming the XP disk formatting will work right?
