Meh, no point in Raid 1. Only increases speed in big file transfers (>100GB) and benchmarks. I've got two F3s and they run just fine without a raid.
I'm not doing raid1 for the speed
What for then?

Oh wait I was thinking Raid 0. Carry on.

Just got back from a family dinner at my uncle's new house. It's a fucking beautiful house, but this is what I liked most..

It hasn't been fully set up yet, so I didn't get to play some of my vinyl on it But I'll get to mess around with it soon

Not sure about the various amps/preamps and whatnot, but I do know those speakers are Sonus Faber Cremona M's.. some $12,000 bucks. The room is a dedicated music room, and you can see over on the right of the top pic a bookshelf stacked with vinyl and CDs. Fucking

Is my DVD burner dying? I've been doing a whole helluva lot of ripping of DVDs and CDs lately and every once in a while it takes forever to read a certain disc. It even goes so far as hanging up windows explorer until I eject the CD. These discs are also perfectly clean and unscratched, and still play just fine. It's just that the computer has trouble reading them. And it's always the same exact discs.

If that is happening after a period of intense use, then the heat being generated might be sliiiightly warping the disk.. or some shit like that.

That occasionally happens with my Macbook Pro.. since it gets fucking hot. If I let it cool down, it is fine again. XD

Hmm, that's what I figured. Although there have been times where I'd go to sleep and try again in the morning and a couple of the discs still wouldn't read Fortunately only like 1 or 2 though.

Oh joy and another tech issue. Every time I reboot my computer and come back to Windows, it wants to reinstall my bluetooth drivers for this little usb adapter thing. Only it can't find the drivers on the internet and usually fails.

Except bluetooth still works just fine and I can still transfer shit Oh well, whatevs.

I'm having a similar problem, matt. My computer takes forever to read my motherboard driver DVD, and tells me Setup.exe is not a valid Win 32 program. When I say forever to read, I'm talking minutes. And most of the icons don't even come up.. Is there any 3rd party program that can do folders and shit like Explorer.exe? Would almost definitely solve this problem, I've had it happen on multiple disks before with multiple drives.

Well well well, I gave it some cool-down time, and decided to actually watch this particular Title on the DVD I'm having issues with. Nero ShowTime crashed when I tried to play that episode saying "Playback is not possible because CSS copy protection failed" or some shit like that. None of the other 7 discs of the show had that problem, nor did the first 3 episodes I already ripped

Need a new soundcard. Creative Audigy ZS 2 currently, but the mic input is broken (sounds like I'm underwater) and I need something PCI-E 1x for when I go crossfire (full-length PCI cards will block fans).

My brother has the above soundcard, sounds great, but afaik only comes bundled with motherboards. Anyone know where I can get it on its own? And how much is it?

Why do you insist on getting that crap? Grab an ASUS Xonar DX.

A fire-breathing dragon on a Fermi? How fitting!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Took some time, but now I'm happy
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
