So, I love sim city and societies was just an insult to sim city fans IMO.. BUT Cities XL is coming soon and is kind of like SC on steriods.  The demo is out and if you like city builders def check this out.  It is like an MMO city builder and I am rather enjoyng it.

you can download the demo on FilePlanet, the demo is good for a week... I think I might buy this game.. The only downside is the subscription fee for the MMO portion.  But the more I think about how cool it would be to have a real time economy w/ the other players on the planet, the more i think i may pay...

You know what I have been reading some things, not very good things, about the Planet Offer (the subscription service). It seems that  Monte Cristo is focusing too much on it. Focusing on it so much that they have taken some features out of the singleplayer and made those only available in PO. I hope they get their act together and realize what they are doing to people who just want this game to offer the basic features of a city builder game in SP mode. If they cut out this Planet Offer bullcrap and actually have a normal SP, then it would have potential. Maybe they won't realize it, maybe they will (doubtful I think).

Tried the demo the other day. I am not a huge sim city/city simulation fan, but as far as city building games go this one seemed pretty good.

For anyone interested in the genre, definitely try it.
