I currently have: "2 |
PDP 1GB DDR2 LOW LATENCY PC-6400 AW108" (the manufacturer is Patriot)

in my system...which is running Vista. So to get the best out of the system I need another 2x1GB kit.

Can people recommend me either a specific product that is compatible, or just a range/brand thats good. Thanks

Kingston makes decent cheap RAM that will work wonderfully as long as you aren't going to overclock.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Are you on 32 or 64 bit?

Best to go with the same RAM you have. The timings will be exactly the same, so they won't bottleneck each other and there's less chance of incompatibility.

32 bit.

Having trouble locating the same type of RAM so might pick up 4GB and put these 2 sticks in the computer downstairs

My Mobo: EVGA NFORCE 680i SLI MB     How can I tell what's compatible?

Your ram is supported. Keep in mind in reality most of all ddr2 sets are supported in your board. These lists are usually "sponsored" by companies trying to increase profit.

That's a good idea. RAM is cheap as chips nowadays.

"Crucial 4GB (2X2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Ballistix Memory"

Confirmation this is okay, even though it's not on the list?
