On a non-sarcastic note, would it be possible to have links to the person's profile on their last.fm name? Instead of having to click the person's library or playlists or loved tracks and then get to their profile page from there.

Yeah, you have to subscribe in order to listen to a few special stations. Such as the stations for your recommendations and loved tracks.

@Miggle I don't think there was all that much thought put into the order at all. It's essentially the same order as it always has been, I would guess.

who is trying to? i'm just saying word-of-mouth from my friends, lovely artistic and cultured bunch that they are, does not even scratch the surface of my own (mostly electronic) musical interests. there's too much out there happening, and the internet- particularly sites like last.fm - help me to facilitate my search for it, and to keep on the pulse of new releases. i don't think even the most avid and engaged music-fan buddy in the world could keep you filled in on new releases in such a prompt and reliable way. i'm not saying your method of discovering new music sucks, or is 'wrong', i'm just justifying why last.fm is a useful site for reasons other than "showing off what you like/listen to".

As far as subscribing goes, I did it at first to use the radio more. But it doesn't really have the rights to a lot of songs, or at least not the ones on my loved tracks. I was planning to listen to it during work, but really the only thing I'd like to listen to is classical music, so I set up a station for that instead. However, I'm on a real piece of shit while at work, such that when a song is over, the loading of the next track and refreshing of the page really bogs down the computer a lot. So if I use any radio, I wind up going somewhere else (like radioio.com).

But at the end of it all, 3$/month isn't bad at all, and I've been using the thing practically since it first came out, so I feel like giving back and supporting them a bit.
