That was a v. bad dust storm that (it hit us yesterday... not nearly as bad as that, though). I have to say, I haven't seen the sky that colour since the wonderful weeks in '03 ()
Really didn't enjoy the coughing fits.
I have to say that our weather this year has been completely off the kilter. First we had heat unimaginable (on top of a pre-existing seven year drought), then we had fire unimaginable, then at almost the same time (!) we had flood upon flood upon flood (I think one part of northern NSW got flooded three times in like two months. BL guys), and now we're getting thirty-degree weather (if you live in Sydney, that is) and we're three weeks into spring, and now this - extreme drought plus extreme heat plus extreme winds equals what?
