I would have liked Cloverfield. Handycam movies are all well and good, (they're not actually I'm sick of them,) but when you're constantly running away from big monters/little monsters and the camera is shaking around like it's being held by Michael J. Fox after twenty cups of coffee you stop enjoying the film and start trying to manage headaches.

Saw it. Didn't like it, didn't dislike it.

It was schizophrenic. Went from being a good, dramatic, makes-you-think film, then goes to over-the-top to dramatic soap-opera-like, then makes you stop thinking completely and starts shoving bullets and explosions down your throat.

A renter, if anything. Don't waste $10 or whatever to see it at the theater.

It's not like they didn't introduce violence early on - that guy had his arm ripped off and was thrown to his death! The guy being turned into an alien was perhaps a bit lame and overused - but I wasn't expecting it at 1am. Not from his casted arm.

It wasn't super impressive - no. I don't think it was bad though, at all.

Its not like we know how their machinery works. Maybe only their mini-ship could call the mothership to pick it up. Although I'm still confused on how the humans were fluent in Alien and the Aliens were fluent in English

Exactly, the whole thing was Pete Jackson going to Neil Bloomwhatsisname and saying "Here's 30 mill, do what you want." I think movies need to be made like that more instead of having to deal with the fucking production companies who care more about a shitty film that's going to make money than a good film that's a little experimental and might not draw the crowds as well as the next big generic blockbuster.
