Its basically a USB sound card with amp right? what makes it for any one computer more then another?
It simply does not work on other systems. Probably software related.

oh... Do they list that as a feature? Sounds like a HUGE drawback to me... I mean I know wants it for his mac but still, after spending dollar amounts like that it would be nice to be able to use it on what ever computer you might end up using.
Lol, yeah. I would want to be able to use it on my mac.. and other computers as well. XD

And in awesome Apple-style marketing, they don't list the specs! Marvellous!
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Specs?

Obviously they can't go listing them. That'd just confuse the majority of Mac users. They'd get all upset and angry.

Freezer mate, your awesome DIY stuff leads me to believe that you are fairly inquisitive. However, you seemed to fail in finding the support documentation. Just a few clicks away on the Apogee website. Here is the user documentation - http://support.apogeedigital.com/index. … sers-guide - at the end it lists the specs, although what is given doesn't seem to be as complete as some of the other DAC manufacturer websites.

I saw that. It doesn't qualify as specs in my book. They don't even tell you the basics, not even SNR, something that even Creative publishes.
