Displaying a swastika if used satirically or as part of an anti-Nazi political statement is not against the law.

A decision by the Bundesgerichtshof declares displaying Nazi symbols, including the swastika, as legal, if it is obvious that they are used to distance oneself from Nationalsocialism.

Maybe if you would have asked me I would have explained it to you... maybe. Mine was clearly an anti-Nazi political statement.. "ignorance is unacceptable".

I'll explain it to the person who reported it also. Although the person who reported it is Canadian.

Well the point was, as it relates to the topic, is that the use and context of Nazi "things" is important. It is historically relevant, and I don't think it a good idea to hide/outlaw history. .. good or bad

Just so everyone knows he deleted an image of a swastika because a German may have inadvertently stumbled upon a graphic on the internet and thus doing so they would be supposedly considered criminals. Apparently the gestapo is alive and well... or perhaps people go about censoring the interwebz without verifying or understand the spirit of the law.

No, collecting anything like this shouldn't be. I don't care if you're a neo-nazi, a KKK member or whatever...you're free to spout whatever bullshit you'd like. Words don't bother me. However, if you threaten me or my family, or start breaking the law...then it's not okay.

That is why many German releases of WW2 themed video games are scrubbed of Nazi symbols.

Or so my German teacher says.

Nah. Nazi shit is cool.

But when you do stuff like fly Nazi flags like that shitforbrains 13 year old a while ago and got a slap on the wrist for it because he 'thought it was cool', then it obviously isnt good.

So would you tie this into the confederate flag being displayed by Southerners and Southern States?
Individuals should be able to fly the Confederate Flag wherever they want to, as long as its on their private property.

I support a state government flying the Confederate Flag if they want to, but it's something that I think should be put to a referendum in the states that are interested in it.

I'm pretty sure a state like South Carolina would probably vote against it, because while a lot of the white people would vote for it, all of the blacks would understandably vote against it.  I think you'll find that even most Southern States overall would be against having their governments fly the Confederate flag.

But again, I support individuals flying it under the conditions mentioned above.

The use of Nazi symbols is restricted under German law. They can be used for art and education, but little else.

I don't agree with anything he did either but I have to say the SS uniforms were very nice. All black with the skulls. Also the German officer uniform was very good too.

Despite everything they did, those Nazis had a good sense of style.
Yea those skulls are cool huh....

"....SS Totenkopfverbände (Death's Head unit). It was the Death's Head unit which eventually made up the guards of all the concentration camps. On their caps, they wore a silver emblem of a skull, the same emblem that was worn by the Waffen-SS. The death's head was supposed to signify that they were loyal to the death, not that they were murderers. The motto of the SS was "Loyalty is my honor."
