Permanent resident. Can't apply for citizenship for 4 more years. Unless I join the military, in which case I think I'd be eligible within a year.

Does the USAF guard its own bases?
The RAF regiment does that, and has dogs - fairly sure.

OTOH if you're dropping in to set up forward bases could be fun.
