Need some good Blu-Rays

So, I finally got my dad to buy a Blu-Ray player. Fuck yeah.

Getting a 46" Samsung LED as well, can't fucking wait to see it in (calibrated) action! So, for this, I'm going to need some of the best Blu-Rays, (image quality-wise, not necessarily best film-wise ) to test it.

Sadly, we don't have a sound system as of yet, so I'm not really looking for the movies with the best audio goodness, but only great video quality.

I've heard lots of good things about Casino Royal, so that's on the list. What else would you guys add?

I've seen Black Hawk Down mentioned as a good Blu-Ray several places as well.

I've seen Black Hawk Down mentioned as a good Blu-Ray several places as well.

BHD is boring as shit, Casino Royale is decent.

No Country for Old Men is very good, as is The Kite Runner.

Best I've seen is a Scanner Darkly though.

I was going to suggest Casino Royale. It is absolutely stunning on Blu-Ray, go for it.

Blu-Ray player hasn't been purchased yet - will be buying on Wednesday.

My modest Blu-Ray collection consists of Rambo, Casino Royale, The Dark Knight and Transporter.

The Dark Knight is awesome as well, I'd definitely reccomend that along with Casino Royale.

I have it on Blu ray. The problem is that it has a constant color cast (tone). Almost like the movie 300. It's nothing special video wise (Relative to other action Blu rays). Audio is good though.

If I had to pick one out of my collection it would be Curse of the Golden Flower. The best video, hands down.

Of course this (youtube) isn't true HD but it will give you an idea.

Troy.. when they storm the beach .. very vibrant.
Pearl Harbor .. the bombing scene ..pimp.
Pirates of the Caribbean.. incredible.
Gangs of NY has a lot of "pop" also.

Gladiator/BraveHeart comes out in September..I'll probably preorder them (Usually cheaper).

- Iron Man

The ones left out are left out because I'm not interested in the actual movie, and the quality isn't enough to get me to buy it.

Well it depends, back when blu-ray/PS3 was just released. The PS3 was by far the best value for money as blu ray players were ridiculously expensive. I dunno about now. It depends on money really. If you can get a standalone blu ray player for much cheaper than a PS3 then there's no point.
