Not sure if anyone saw this, but I watched this last night, really made me feel for these poor dogs. The presenter, Rickie Haywood-Williams meets the young men who take dangerous dogs onto the streets and asks whether dogs have become the new weapon of choice. He discovers that some owners deliberately train and abuse their animals to make them vicious attack dogs, and learns that the most iconic and feared dog of all, the pit bull, is back on our streets.

Was pretty gutted at a couple of points, so if you really love your dogs, prepare to hold back a tear or two.

Missed this last night as I was sleeping while the Mrs watched the Rhys Jones thing on ITV.

Tell me, do you know if they are showing it again please?

Says who? she's the gentlest dog I've ever seen unless provoked, and as a responsible dog owner I keep her leashed, muzzled and safe in the fields when she's being walked. The dog isn't dangerous, it's irresponsible owners that turn them into monsters.

My dogs are not dangerous, they've got unlimited courage and won't back down from a fight, but I'm a good dog owner that makes sure they never get into one.

My vet agrees, even when I took my staffy in to get stitched up after a fight with my pit bull she remarked that its the gentlest, yet biggest staffy she's ever seen.

My guess is you've not spent much time around a staffy, pit bull or other "dangerous" dogs. I thought the same until I became interested in the breeds and spent time with them, I know and have seen first hand what a badly treated dangerous dog is capable of, it's up to the owners to protect them from becoming like that.

Yeah, you're right, but I'm not denying that owners are to blame for a second. I don't that a well looked after, well trained staffy/mastiff/pit can be a fantastic pet to have. You're right when you say that the owners are to blame for vicious attacks etc. but I was highlighting that fact that Pit Bulls are a banned breed of dog under the Dangerous Dogs act '91.

I've been chased by a fucking German Shephard before, and it's a fuckign scary thing, I'm shit scared of unfamiliar Germans (lol). But if I spend some time with one, and got used to it, then I'de be fine.

I have respect for you that you treat your dog well, I hate people that are abusive towards dogs.

Well I haven't read the dangerous dogs act but I've consulted my vet before I purchased either dogs, I didn't lie about their breed and I provided certificates showing where the dogs came from and she didn't have any issues with me owning one, she considers it above and beyond that I ensure the dogs are muzzled and away from public parks and places where other dogs are walked.

My dogs weren't bred for fighting, or trained, or encouraged to fight, so my opinon is that while my dogs are in my control they are very safe to myself, other animals and other people.
