That won't stop that kind of abuse. Also a mobile carrier would require allot of resources for a feature that will likely cause more harm than good.Trotskygrad wrote:

imagane being the one "sinking" the carrier if the system will work like in BC2 : the player who makes the house fall apart completely gets the "destruction kills" with 32 players on the carrierunnamednewbie13 wrote:
This. If a team's so horrible that it's going to lose all its ships, and doesn't yet have any flags on land, it's better for the match to be over due to a lack of spawns for said wiped-out team. But a destructible carrier should be movable, even if it can only be to preset locations.RDMC wrote:
Besides for the team being raped into oblivion I guess it's better for their spawn to be destroyed rather than endure being spawnraped for the rest of the round.unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Worked for Battlefield 1942, but then you generally had more than one ship.
yeah probably.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

But I think that if not movable, the carrier should definitely be destructible.
If they are to be made movable, a titan-style system would work nice

Definitely buying a new system exclusively for this game.
I remember when bf2 came out and I still had my shitty family PC with a geforce 5500... those were the days... waiting at least a couple mins to verify client data.
No more, I want this to be the best experience since bf2, and it shall be so. SSDs are a must tbh

wouldn't it suck if you went out and spent 3 grand on a PC and the game ended up being awful?Airwolf wrote:

Meh I kind of lie, I'm looking to get a new system anyway. Dual core just doesn't cut it anymore tbh.
what do you need more than a dual-core for? i assure you, there aren't many games worth the latest technology...
almost like saying 'FLAC or gtfo' and then only listening to deadmau5...
SSD and i7 and then finding you only play games from 2008, anyway...

jebus, gotta be getting hard to find a dual core thats worth while. Especially for a new build. May not be worth it to upgrade if you have one, but if buying new.Uzique wrote:

More and more games are being optimised for multi (4+) cores. If you are using a new dual core (i3,i5) then you would still be doing alright, but dual cores have had their day.
you sorely miss my point
hardware requirements/recommended are different altogether from game's being worth the hardware.
one is purely quantitative and the other is qualitative
games suck nowadays... i don't care if the i7 is a good gaming chip. no games are worth the money.

True enough, but it doesn't mean new good games can't come out, and whats the point of building a system that can't handle a new one, only to find out you really like a new game. It's not that much more for a good quad core.Uzique wrote:

I agree with Nic. The price gap has narrowed considerably, so unless you're pressed for cash, there's no purpose in limiting yourself to an E8400 (for example).
Subjectively, I'm contradicting myself, considering I'm playing Minecraft and Europa Universalis 3...on a dual core computer.

May as well get a quad core if you're buying new, and I reckon BF3 will be pretty sweet.
Why not go all out and get sextuplet core processor.

Avatar implies I only listen to deamau5?
If God has willed it, I will have built a new rig when this game comes out.
My new housemate was given six 6950's from his work, as they have been flood damaged. He's got a mate cleaning them up and they should work fine after that. He's then going to flash them to 6970's, so if all goes to plan I should be able to acquire one for cheap
