Preorder numbers for Battlefield 3:
>Xbox 360: 1,072,593
>PS3: 448,616
>PC (The leading platform): 146,809
Why did you buy an Xbox when you already had a PS3? Or did you sell that before?-Sh1fty- wrote:
I might return my xbox...
My friend has a PS3. I play at his house Sunday between church services. I meant less players in an actual game. Like no 32 vs 32 only 12 v 12 or 16 v 16.
I didn't mean overall.
Anyways...I am getting better at the controller but I'll still never perform as well on a controller as I did on a k&m

I still don't quite understand why you guys say you can get a computer that can run BF3 on all high, even ultra at a decent resolution for like $600-$800. Doesn't the graphics card alone cost a good $200-$350? Plus the mobo, RAM, cooling, etc. Maybe it's just Canada, but a decent gaming PC will cost at least a grand (if you buy it prebuilt. I know you guys all say to build it yourself, but it seems like a hassle)
Consoles go for nearly a quarter of a grand. They also have much fewer fuck ups and are much less of a hassle to deal with.
I game on both PC and consoles and understand why people prefer consoles. Being able to crawl onto my couch and have everything just work beats the hell out of sitting at a desk and troubleshooting punkbuster or the million other problems BF2 had.

Exactly! For the extra cost and problems of a PC, is it really worth it? The only benefit I can see is mouse and keyboard and slightly better graphics. I just watched the first 10 minutes of BF3's singleplayer played on PS3 and it looks stunning. I don't see how the PC version could have graphics any noticeably different.Macbeth wrote:

PC is better. It just is. I play on 360, but even i can see the benefits of the PC for this game.Ryan wrote:

64 players, noticeably improved graphics, better squad system, mature players (compared to console anyway), better server system, mods.
I'll be getting this for console until i can afford a new PC in December.
@ryan
Well the graphics on the PC are of course much better BUT in BF2 if you ran everything on very low you had an edge over the players with ultra high graphics.

The 360 community does suck cock. The PS3 community is pretty cool though. I met way more douches in the PC community than in the PS3.Pure_Beef_68 wrote:

You need a gaming computer to run office?
360 = Douchebags, kids, studentsMacbeth wrote:

PS3 = Teenagers, slightly better douchebags, students
PC = Angry hate-filled social rejects, Tech snobs, students, adults
That said, there are also plenty of decent people that can be found on all platforms.
Edit: Students can fall into either good or bad categories

You don't need a gaming computer to run iTunes or netflix. The P4's at work still manage to do both. I am just don't buy into the elitist attitude of other PC gamers. A dell and PS3 works just fine unless you are an enthusiast or strategy fan.
No but you have to substract the cost of a normal computer (monitor, case, mouse, keyboard included) when comparing "gaming PC" to console if you want to make it anywhere near fair...

All I was saying is that if you want a computer at home then the difference between being able to run games isn't much more/probably around the same amount of money you'd spend buying a console.
You'd spend nearly the same amount on a dell and a ps3 as you would on a computer capable of running pc games, add the fact that pc gaming especially for fps, rts, rpg games is usually much superior.

It is a hassle.... for those of us who do not wish to spend money building our own system and then fuck it up because we are not ultra tech savvyRyan wrote:

That being said teamwork on PC (at least when it comes to BF) seems to be waaaay better than on the 360.
My theory is, parents are always more comfortable with a console where they can see what their kids are doing rather than having a considerably more expensive PC which neither their kids nor themselves know anything about, and on top of that their kids can download porn or forbidden communist literature and hide it from them. So naturally the overall average age and sophistication of the PC will be higher. Which leads to an overall better experience.
And for those of us PC gamers at heart without the money to spare, well, its not too bad. But definitely not the same.

I don't see how you can fuck up building a PC, it's not much harder than Legos...
e.g. The brillant mind who put thermal paste on his CPU's pins obviously didn't read the manual that comes with thermal paste...

I don't see how you can't hold a job or finish college. Seriously, it's all relative floppy.
