If it isn't then it renders jets just useless.

All you will do is be able to take out other jets, this will be the slowest way to take tickets of the other team, waiting for people get in a jet, take off and then find them. Depending what power they give the machine guns, you may be able to take out infantry, but I wouldn't rule out them been a pea shooter.

Considering not purchasing now, just because EA has been terrible with their support for the 360 version of BC2.

If I were yo get BF3 it would be the PC one, but still. The support in general has been very lack luster.
