While that is true, I think the reason we can´t implement better AI isn´t hardware restrictions, but rather because we can´t program better AI.

Well Crysis and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had pretty good AI, I'd be happy with that in other games.

crysis ai was mainly them being able to see you right after you took one shot from a mile away
slight exaggeration

Oh God I miss playing Crysis. There were so many ways to play it! I loved getting creative and doing new things. Sometimes I'd never use cloak, or I'd only use cloak and sneak past everybody but boss fights and certain objectives I had to destroy. I also did a game where I went around throwing random objects at the KPA and never using my rifles.

Good times...good times...

I wonder how many gadgets BF3 will have. I read in a Battleblog that there are "Years worth" of unlocking if I recall correctly.
