This game needs War mode from Call of Duty World at War
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
this forum needs a 'punch forum user through his screen' mode
Small hourglass island
Always raining and foggy
Use an umbrella
Always raining and foggy
Use an umbrella
I actually agree with this. Although a slap through his screen or yell out through voice feature is good enough.FatherTed wrote:

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

Well, thats your opinion. While I disagree, I respect it. After all, you dont have to buy itcoolstorybro wrote:

the infantry feels exactly like bc2. adding more vehicles and players isnt going to change that
Hmm, interesting point. I do feel teh BC2 influence, but I dont see it really as bad thing. I mean, it can be patched and tweaked. Thats why we have an Alpha and Beta test...
I never really played bf2 for infantry anyways so Im not overly concerned about it.

bc2 infantry is the worst of any fps game ive ever played. i like chopper whoring and infantry equally, so im probably not gonna be playing much bf3 unless the choppers are awesome
whats wrong with bc2 inf o:
Small hourglass island
Always raining and foggy
Use an umbrella
Always raining and foggy
Use an umbrella
it just feels so sluggish and laggy
I saw some gameplay from FRANKIEonPCin1080p and it did not seem BC2ish in any way. The way he was drop shooting and running around seemed more CODish.
My major disappointment from watching the videos is having random deviation with the iron sights in the same spot as opposed to the iron sights and gun moving with the random deviation, I guess I'm saying I want the recoil to equal the deviation.

The only thing i can't stand about BF3 is the shadows of the tree's and such. It's so over compensated and saturated with light and shadows it feels like i can't see 5 ft in front of my own face. I like older games where shadows were a bit simpler but in these newer games its too much. It's like a mesh netting over everything. Not all shadows are a mesh, have some full coverage of shadows atleast. Anyone feel the same?
What are your PC specs and what settings were you playing it on?coolstorybro wrote:

When I played it my FPS was shit (hovered around 20) on low settings and 1600x900 resolution. But that was because my PC was not up to the task of running it, that's why i need/will upgrade my computer so I can play it smoothly once it releases. I wouldn't judge this game based on 1 map and 1 game mode in the Alpha trial. The fact that it's an alpha and it has bugs might be why its so sluggish for you if your PC is good enough to run the game smoothly.

im not talkin about video lag or whatever tho. it would still feel sluggish on the best gaming pc in the world
I still have some hopes for this to be a proper BF2 sequel - I really can't wait to get on a big open desert map, and cruise around in a tank like the old days. Especially with these graphics and sound, it will be amazing. Hopefully the tank limit will be the same as BF2, and we can roll into caps with like 4 tanks and 2 APCs and send those candy ass engineers laying mines back to the stone age.
I also echo some regarding the sluggish performance. Even though in alpha (whether that really matters) my 4.7ghz 2600k + GTX 295 is pushing around 25-35 FPS on "High" (the highest for alpha) settings. I'm wondering if it's due to SLI problems, beta drivers, or that it just prefers DX11 cards, which I'm thinking at this point.
Also, does anyone know if our alpha player accounts will be migrated to the beta and retail versions? Or do we start over when it's actually released?

Downloading the update that tweaks damage a little and fixes some stuff.
To download the new client delete the origin download cache:
1. Exit Origin and make sure process is not running.
2. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache\<useremailaddress>
3. Delete the folder with your user e-mail address.
4. start>search\run> appwiz.cpl and uninstall bf3 alpha trial
5. start>search\run>shutdown -f -r -t 0
6. Launch Origin and re-download updated Aplha client.

Shouldn't it auto update through Battlelog website? I don't even have that folder in my Origin dir.SonderKommando wrote:

You do, youre* probably looking in program files. ProgramData is a hidden directory, from what I understand its part of the public or all users profile and therefore doesnt show up in your profile. you have to actually type the path into the run line. Start with C:\ProgramData then follow the path i wrote from there.

No way to adjust mouse sens. On my G9 I have to go to min DPI for playing, and then max DPI for menus. Very few options, seems like a very primitive build. Wanted to play just now but seems they are updating the site.[-DER-]Omega wrote:

Why should engineers plant landmines at the base when they can shoot rockets at enemy tanks instead?hexify wrote:
