I'll give it a whurl (why wouldn't you). It's the writers that really make a show.. this isn't to say that the (voice) actors can't fuck it up though.

Unless they can be replicated perfectly and I mean perfectly this is going to be a disaster. Fox can't afford the voice actors? FOX? can't AFFORD?

Billy West is known as somewhat of a voice actor activist, he doesn't like the fact that in all the high budget animated films the cast always seems to just be celebrities doing their own voices as opposed to a voice actor who can look at a character and come up with a voice that fits that character. I imagine he would have demanded the pay an actor would in a live-action series, (which is considerably more given the fact that the series is using that person's image,) and Fox would have said no. I think it's pretty reasonable on West's part, I mean Billy does three of the main characters as well as many others. LaMarche and MacNeil do hundreds and DiMaggio does a significant bundle as well.

Urgh. Just pay up Fox you cheap bastards.

Also, Billy West made Fry's voice almost identicle to his own for the very reason that he didn't want the character to be recast.

BTW I don't know if this recasting is set in stone. This could all be part of the bargaining process. taking auditions etc... Could be a bluff.

Thinking about it, it could be like 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang'. They bring in some unknowns (Downey Jr.) to bring down the price of the actor they actually want.
