I can't argue about the tendencies of the UK police, as I don't live there and have not experienced that. It still seems a bit unbelievable that they would do something like that in such a clunky way...they must know they would be busted. That's why it's so difficult to believe: if they know they have a reputation for that kind of shit, why would they do it again, under such scrutiny, in such an amateurish way?
It does seem unbelievable, they are generally not too smart which is why its clunky and amateurish.
Having got away with a lot off stuff over the years - grabbing a member of the public and shooting them seven times in the hed springs to mind -they know they will get away with it in the future, except they've been a bit caught out by all this video stuff - look forward to a law banning photography or video of a police officer.
Oh wait, we're there already.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7892273.stmI was referring to the other G20 stuff, where its on video, when I said "caught publicly and with independent and undeniable evidence".
Maybe there is a video, it'll be interesting to see if they deny it in the meantime. Otherwise Parliament does tend to take seriously the sworn eyewitness statement of a sitting MP.

I wouldn't say it was a conspiracy. Most likely a few rouge cops acting on their own.
Maybe, maybe not.
If a PC removes his ID pretty sure his Sergeant would see it, his Inspector would see it and any other PC would see it.
That nothing was done speaks for itself.
