yeah some guy here in my state had a flu and he has been going to school he has been wearing a gas mask, and he said he is fine and that the media is blowing it out of proportion.

I would say it was what the media wants. When the media blows things out of proportion, it gets more viewers.

We just got official confirmation of our first case of swine flu and there are 475 other cases suspected and four school systems are shut down.

"CORPUS CHRISTI — Nueces County now has 475 suspected cases of swine flu, also known as North American flu or H1N1 flu, up from the 402 suspected cases Sunday.

Officials said Nueces County has one confirmed case, from Miller High School.

The number of probable cases in Nueces County drop to two, Dr. William Burgin, health authority for the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District, said Monday. They have screen more than 1,600 people.

Miller High School, West Oso ISD, Premont ISD and La Glorida ISD are closed locally as a result of the flu."

  Let's keep that statement in mind. Looks like we've got a confirmed case in the Tampa Bay area. I bet most everyone around here will over react and be extra annoying until this blows over.

Better to err on the side of caution, and a virus can evolve in a very quick manner of time.

Tbh, I really don't see the huge difference between Swine Flu and any other type of Flu. All can be passed from person to person, and you can die from any of them if you don't rest and take medication or treatment for it. The whole pandemic thing was blown out of proportion big style really. Like Kmar pointed out, more people die from other diseases every few minutes.
