Ok so i had a quick look around the forum and couldn't find nothing about this. (if there is sorry im an idiot lol)

But the question i want to ask is.

When i install 1.5 patch i will only be able to play 1.5 patched servers obviously but, when i want to play 1.41 again, do i have to do anything or can i just repatch it back to 1.41 and it will be alright with no problems what so ever ?

Im a bit of a retard when it comes to stuff  like this and i would appreciate it if anyone could help me

Thanks <3

I just reinstalled my BF2 and patched back to 1.41

Apparently you can do it another way by editing the registry etc but some people have said its dodgy and has problems, I would just go for clean install at least that way you know its all fine and fast, then you can just patch straight to 1.5 final when its out

Apparently if you copy your BF2 install folder BEFORE you patch to 1.5, you can then patch to 1.5 and have both versions, then swap whichever one you want to play.
I did this, but haven't tried to swap them yet.

Yeah, copying your BF2 folder and patching one of them works, I've done this with BF and lots of other games

i had no problems with this method...

Install BF2 v1.50 Beta 1:

    * Copy your Battlefield 2 install to another location
    * Install the update
    * This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it was originally installed.

To go back to BF2 v1.41:

    * Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 1.50
    * Rename the copied install (1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
    * Click START>RUN
    * Type: regedit
    * Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2
    * There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
    * Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
    * Run Battlefield 2 as normal
and since i'm running vista i didnt have to edit the registry.  all i had to do was rename the folders.

I just copied the original install over and renamed, copied it back and called the 1.41 one Battlefield 2, changing the 1.5 one to Battlefield 2 1.5.

Means you can swap whenever.  Hopefully it's ok.
