To get right to the point, blacks are pretty damn bitter and it has propagated from generation to generation.  Former slaves hated white people with a fury beyond definition and they talked about it every day.  The first generation of "free" African Americans heard this hate every day of their lives and saw the results daily through racism, inequality, lynchings, etc.  From there, things self propagated.  So when whites innocently state that we should "get over it", it infuriates us.  Beyond being insensitive, their views would be like Osama bin Laden saying for us to get over 9-11 or German people saying, hey Jews....time to chill out on that Holocaust stuff, Hitler did it, not us.  People laugh when we say that we are due reparations for slavery, because they say that they are not responsible, but in reality...as an AMERICAN TAXPAYER...they are.  This country was literally built upon the backs of slaves.  To those who would contest this fact, unless you know the impact of the cotton industry and how much it benefited America, please don't bother.

Now...the bitterness probably comes from the fact that everyone ELSE who has been wronged throughout history has gotten reparations from those countries.  Native Americans get special tax breaks, have land that is under Federal Protection, they have tax free revenue from gambling, and much much more.  I won't get into issues involving Jewish reparations because that will start calls for people saying I am anti-Semitic or some other such nonsense...but I will just leave it at that they have been given reparations as well.  Blacks have not been given anything.  Nada.  Nothing.  Even the promise of 40 acres and a Mule to slaves by the United States government just after slavery was never honored.

In regard to reparations, I am obviously torn by the issue.  I don't think that we should be given any type of cash compensation because far too much time has passed and without the financial education to back it up, far to many blacks would piss it away anyhow.  However, I DO believe that certain tax benefits similar to what has been given to Native Americans are warranted.  A HUGE benefit should be that we should be given free, high-quality education or financial management education or tax breaks or at least housing and land at reduced rates.  Some whites like to scream unfair and pull their hair out when we get "preferential treatment", but you gotta be kidding me!!!

I am from around Cincinnati where the only time we make the news is when there is a riot or a police shooting.  Last year was a record year for murder yet the police department is still having thier hands tied by the black leaders in the city.  I agree with most of what Beat has had to say.  My question is how do you turn around such a state.  Instead of promoting good will and trying to better the situation, the black leaders are point fingers at the cops for ratial profilling so now they can not even defend themselves.  I agree that education is a big part.  At some point a positive black leader is going to have to make the difference.  I don't see the changes coming from outside the community.  As long as excuses are made for criminal acts and fingers are pointed at the people that are trying to protect us, we sit at an impass.  I don't know what the solution is by so far it only looks like things are getting worse.  The reform appears that is has to start at the bottom, the young that are just starting, but until they have enough positive role models leading them a good education will not take hold and keep them on the right path.

I would agree with you, but the blacks that whine the most were never affected directly from slavery, so how can they whine? Like i said europeans were slaves at one point in time, do we get special treatment? I was never directly affected by slavery, but it indirectly still affects me to this day.  Europeans were never enslaved as a race.  There were European slaves, many taken after being subjugated from wars or conflicts.  However, European slaves were also not part of a systematic industry like African American slaves were.  I would suggest that you consider their conditions more like prison captivity than industrial slavery.

The common misconception is that Jews got the "worst" deal out of everyone and unfortunately, it is another false perception made by white Americans that makes us seethe.  Roughly 5.6 million Jews died in the Holocaust over a 6 or 7 year period.  Of course, many more suffered from torture and experiments, so lets not forget that, but it was still over a short period and did not encompass decades and centuries.   Once Germany was defeated, it was far easier for them to re-integrate themselves back into society.

Over the course of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, over 10 million slaves brought over by boat, over 16% of them died in transit due to the horrific conditions on the boat.  They don't know the exact count because of the lack of true record keeping and the fact that ship captains would simply toss the body over the side.  The African could look forward to an entire life of slavery.  If he or she had children...those children were slaves right when they popped out.  By the children being born into slavery, it allowed the logarithmic growth of slavery in America over a 200 year period to estimated annual levels of over 3.5 million by 1860.  Hundreds of millions of Africans were abused as slaves for well over two centuries.  Several empires have grown and died in that period of time.  To think that former slaves would be able to get up, dust themselves off, and integrate into a society that didn't want them around is extremely unfair.

So essence, the only comparison between the Jewish Holocaust and slavery that should be made is a comparison between a short-term hell and a long-term hell.  Personally, I will take the short term one any day.

Not all blacks are decedents from slaves.

Yeah, I have a feeling this topic was simply started to cause a forest fire. Bloody forum-arsonists.

Maybe black people do commit most crimes, (I'm thinking this again relates to America,) in America. My thinking however, is that Black people commit most small crimes. Small crimes I consider Burglary, Assault, and even Murder and Rape. The big crimes though are all committed by white people - the CEOs of big corporations.

Big crimes include polloution, theft of basic needs, (water and air to name two) mass murder and poverty, just to name a few. They also cause unemployment in whole communities so that the leaders of these corporation gets an extra one million. This in turn can turn some people to crime, to simply stay alive.
As far as I know, no black person has ever been guilty of committing these crimes, yet us white folk dabble in both. If anyone here has ever seen the documentary, "The Corporation" they'll know what I'm talking about.

Here's a quote from the movie "Fight Club" in which Edward Norton's character outlnes the thought process these people go through to make sure they're left with maximum profits once they kill someone.

"A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. This is not just for shock value in a pretty cool movie, there have been many occurences of this, especially with car/car related companies, (Firestone made a shipment of tires that continually burst, but never recalled them.)

In efforts to cuts, white-owned buisinesses have caused deforestation, poverty in other counteies, (a perfect example being the Nike Corporation who can afford to pay Tiger Woods multi-million's a year for wearing a hat, while they pay their factory workers next to nothing,) and have even led to them privatising water, (until the people rose up to take it back.)

Mass murder, theft, denying people basic needs, polloution leading to extinction of wildlife and health risks for people, exploitation. These crimes, although they effect everyone seem to be treated as less serious than some poor bastard who shot someone to get some money. When that happens we go up in arms, and identify the assailant as being black, (or the latest poor minority,) and a bad person. We're quite happy to let white-run corporations silently kill us while they make a quick million bucks, and are even more happy to say that "Blacks commit most of the crimes," when in truth, white CEOs commit the worst crimes, and the most crimes.


I may be five pages out of the loop here, (at Wannabe_Tank_Whore,) but most 'discrimination' to white people by black people is actually caused by white peple trying to be politically correct.

Racism - Black people do get special treatment in a lot of ways. Take BET for instance, if someone came out with a station called "White Entertainment Television" black people all over the country would have a cow. You'd never hear the end of it. It's the same with all white anything, it's called discrimination but when you have all black this and that it's okay? WTF?!

Now I'm not saying racism doesn't exist because it does, but Blacks are sure as hell not innocent of it. I'm even racist to an extent, I have had black friends and some black people are highly intelligent and quite nice but generally not. Where I work there is a majority of black people and I get to hear  about about ways to exploit welfare all day long. "Claim your neighbors kids." "I live in rent free goverment housing but I just got the new Eddie Bower series Expedition. I'm getting rims next week." This is bullshit. It makes me angry to no end that I'm forking my money over in taxes to pay for this worthless stupid shit beside me.

I think the Black community, as a whole should stop playing the race card every time something doesn't go their way. Only then will racism start to dissapear. They need to take responsibility for themselves and earn themselves a better life instead of whinning about not having the oppurrtunity.

Again, I'm not saying all black people are like this because I know they aren't. I'm just saying fix your own problems.

First off...interesting comments, Tyferra.  For the most part, I tend to agree.

To Crusher, nobody is saying that all of a sudden, Blacks should rise up and start blasting white people at every turn.  And to say that most black people are generally not nice is more of an indication of the company YOU keep, not black people "in general".  Please do not take your personal experiences and then label an entire race of people based on that.

In regard to BET, just what are we supposed to call it?  Negro TV?  Coon Cable Network (CCN for short)?  Whites have controlled television programming for quite some time, so why should they bother calling a station the White Channel when at one point in time ALL the channels were showing white oriented content?    It is only after they saw the ability to market towards blacks that black oriented shows started showing up.  Personally, I feel that if it were not for shows like Good Times, The Jeffersons, and probably the most prolific of them all...the Cosby Show, the networks would still be white television.  For crying out loud, give us one damn channel where we can show content that relates specifically to us.  Sheesh.

And while you feel as if you are getting ganked by blacks taking advantage of the welfare system, you should look at the abuses by whites using welfare as well.  Over 60% of the welfare is used by whites and they abuse the system just as bad.

I do agree that black communities should stop using the race card.  It has been abused for far too long by black who are just plain ignorant.  I swear to you...everytime I see Jessie Jackson stick his stupid ass into a situation, I cringe.  I am still rather bitter that O.J. Simpson probably got away with murder on the race card.  Crap like that makes us all look bad because far too many issues have been turned into racial issues that simply were not and the media scarf it up like dog eating fillet mignon.  However, racism will not disappear just because blacks don't play the race card.  ...and telling somebody to take responsibility for something when they are ignorant is not going to make racism disappear either.

Well when ever any crime is commited they usually always blame the black person if white people are around and one black person who do they blame? The black guy i know i know fear not my dear brothers i love you all.

Most of the crimes that were commited by whites are probably blamed on black people too (of course this is probably mostly in the U.S)

I remember few years ago when my Aunt and Mom and Sister went to Florida for a vaction they drove there. They were passing threw (i forget what it was called) my mom was out getting gas and the guy told her this isnt a safe area to be out by yourself it was all black people and they werent from the states they didnt know.

My mom went into the mcdonalds and she said every single person in there was black and they were playing wierd african music on the radio my mom went in and ordered food they didnt refuse to serv or did they do anything / was mean to her.

PS ilyandor change you're sig back to the other black girl she was alot better looking then this one although this one has a nice body too
