Whenever I try to play TF2 or L4D, after a while my screen goes all fucked up and black with spiraling colors and shit. What's weirder is that when I Alt-Tab out of the game, then maximize it again, everything is back to normal for a few minutes.

The fuck is going on and how do I fix it?

pic related, it's a screenshot of wat this shit looks like

but that wouldn't impact a screen-shot, would it?

Looks like a problem with the actuall game, imo.

Might be heat issue or insufficient PSU. You do have an SLI setup, check your PSU.

Probably your graphics card overheating. I got stuff like that on my laptop when playing source games, player models would literally stretch across the entire map, like 1 verticies position would refuse to change and just stayed there.

Yeah it might be, I have an ancient case and my room gets really hot.

Fortunately the cards have huge fans that are way to quite to be at full strength, so I'll turn those up and see how it goes.

If the drivers are messed up or overheating it could cause glitches like that, and a screen shot will show exactly whats on the screen, so if the screen looks like that so will the screen shot (unless the monitor is fucked which is not the case here.)

Looks like overheating.

Put a fan next to the back of your case, blowing the air outwards. Works like a charm.

Throwing in another call of overheating. A mate had the exact same problem and it turns out his 8800gtx's were scorching.

I´d say it´s due to overheating

What brand is the video card?

I had a Leadtek (lulz) and it threw in the towel after about twoish years.
