I'm highly considering going on a road trip of the US with some friends once school's out for the summer. While we'd love to see everything, we don't have all the time in the world and probably can't go for more than 2 or 3 weeks

I myself have never been to any midwestern state besides Illinois, and even then I was in Chicago. For Western states, I've only been to San Francisco and some other parts of the Bay Area.

I was thinking we could go down through the south, into Texas, up into Kansas or Oklahoma (unless there's nothing there lulz), cut into the Mountain or Southwest states, and then go to SoCal and drive up the Pacific coast.

What do you guys think?

Go to Montanta. The views are amazing and rivers are clear enough to drink straight from them. Plus theres no annoying people to deal with.

That's what my friend suggested, since I just realized the preliminary thing I posted would take more than 3 weeks.

If you are in DC area around January you should definitely watch Obama's inauguration.

Once in a lifetime opportunity.

ya know.. upstate NY is like that too. Generally anything away from the subtropic insect infested/animal defecating areas are good.

Upstate NY is also only 4 hours away from civilization, not 12.

Vermont too.

Vermont's an incredible place once you get past all the hippies. Go to Killington. That's where I go. Amazing all year round.

For the western states you could take highway 101.

edit: Actually Idk. It's pretty scenic in southern Oregon and I would recommend it. Any one taken it through California?

Orlando is touristy.. it's not like KSC neither. Hit some real beaches, like siesta key.

Universal Studios is pretty cool if you'd be into hitting the parks one day.
