I can get the game going, but it CTD's after about 2-3 minutes in game. I don't know what's wrong, it was working a couple days ago. Any suggestions?
what are your system specs... are you patched up to 1.41... have you updated punkbuster manually....? Do you have a firewall?
any heat issues? And any recent changes to your computer...?

Delete the BF2 folder from your documents folder?
Repatch?
Reinstall?
Manually uninstall and then reinstall?
Google for help regarding the above point?
If not, do that and come back if you still have issues.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
I get CTD once in a while (about every 5 hours of gameplay). It's allways my firewall which has blocked something.
Even if I put it on "Allow All" it sometimes block traffic and cause a CTD from BF2.
Annoying.

How do I check firewall??? I am not very tech savvy.Freezer7Pro wrote:

Control panel > Secutiry > Firewall > Turn off (Windows firewall sucks anyway, causes more problems than it solves, so just leave it off)
OK, will do that.Finray wrote:

I have tried everything else, and I'm still CTDing after about 2 minutes in game. It also only seems to happen when a lot of people are nearby or I'm getting artyed or attacked by a tank/APC/ a large # of grenades in one area.
EDIT: Also, my computer seems to be a bit slower than usual, not much, but a discernible amount. Takes 10-20 seconds longer for everything.

Download Rivatuner to monitor temps. When you say a lot of people are near by/arty makes me think your graphics card is overheating. Try turning down the graphics a bit, see if that helps. If not, turn them down a lot.
I just looked @ Task Manager after game basically froze, CPU usage was @ 100%. I have NEVER had a CTD problem before in the 1+ years that I have been playing BF2, so I don't know what is going on that is different than before.
Run AV scans.
was it bf2 that was the CPU hog? or another programFinray wrote:

Many games hog the CPU, for example Company of Heros relies very heavily on the grunt of the processor. BF2 could have been one, but I don't think it'd be enough to max out a 3Ghz PD.Tehremos wrote:

When I play, it's usually only at around 40-60% CPU Usage according to Task Manager.Finray wrote:

Maybe try from the bottom...pull on the front panel??? All cases are different. Can you post some pics of what you have for a case?
