About a zombie apocalypse?

Lets take everything into consideration;

Modern theater is being done by Infinity Ward,  WW2 is already overdone both in COD series and much other games. Future theaters don't sound like they are incoming. And since no developer has the balls to make a WW2 shooter from the Wehrmacht point of view...

What about Call of Duty: Zombie Apocalypse? Some sort of COD: L4D

What if the current bonus mode is some way to test if the game would be a success or not?

Thoughts?

Much easier to make the zombies a mod.

Treyarch might make a zombie FPS, but not with the CoD name.

Tbh I want them to start making action adventures like Spiderman 1 and 2.

Doubt Activision would let them make a zombie COD.... the franchise has generally been about "realism" and "historical accuracy"

After their last attempt at making a game, I hope the next thing to come from them is something far away from the CoD franchise and PC gaming in general.

I don´t know about multiplayer, cause I torrented it. Singleplayer was mediocre though. At best.

Treyarch seem incapable to take the hint that WW2 is overdone big time.

So the next CoD vTreyarch will be set in WW2.

Imo the sp ranked second to the Crysis sp for me.

But the second world war is real so i guess it doesn't count. The last Russian levels really made me sniff and the phase when....

Red Army: URAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

And the commissar: Your motherland needs your final commitment! The SS honor guard defending this building will fight to their last breath...

And the ending was the best I ever seen. I almost snif'd

WaW had a pretty good story and it was bloody intense as well. Explosions, the lighting, the environments and the good voice acting, plus limbs and shit flying off made it pretty immersive. A Vietnam game would be good, or even better, Korean War since its never been done in an FPS as far as I can remember, cept for that BF2 Mod.

Meh.

Bring on World War 1 thanks. Could have the most epic end ever imo to any war game.

One like the end of Gallipoli.

Ya know, a Korean War COD would be nice. I certainly would like the m2 carbine to finally be in a game instead of just having its older bro the m1 carbine.

Only problem is that you couldn't really keep the same characters. you would have to have many different character in many different battles, because most of the time they just sat in the trenches lobbing bombs at each other and occasionally probing the lines. I agree that it would be epic to have a massive bayonet charge and everything... but i don't know if WWI would suit an entire game.

tbh i want to see a Korean War game.

Read about the trench raiders and other tactics employed, the arab revolt etc. It wasn't all zomfg bolt-action rifle charges vs. machine guns.

The western front was a big deal but many people survived Gallipoli, the Somme, Verdun and such. Horrible casualties yes, but read some of the literature from surviving guys. EPF Lynch's diary Somme Mud is a great place to start as it's a very personal account. One of my favourite stories was a little japanese immigrant to Aus who used to run around with two webley's and lots of grenades. Still got the mag he was mentioned in somewhere here. A true patriot and adventurer imo.

They bayonet charge would have to be used at max three times during the game. The last time resulting in the player characters death in a suicidal charge of course. You know, the big tragic anti-war message.

CoD is about war. Realistic war, at least somewhat.

I'd love to see them make a zombie FPS though. There aren't enough out there.

The guys that survived the whole war were very lucky, groups almost never made it through alive, and many of the ones that survived only fought at the end, so basing characters would be hard as generally you need a group of common characters throughout the game. (Unless of course you are trying to show how quickly people died and have lots of short lived characters... but then people dont get to know them etc etc)

Also, since the Americans joined the war so late in the piece, it couldn't be based on American characters which means it is unlikely to get made because American companies aren't going to make a game about British, French and Aussie soldiers. Its a shame, as i'd love to play a game as an Aussie at Gallipoli then on to the western front... probably be fun

Lynch was a front line soldier and a few of his mates got through the whole thing.

Besides, since when was CoD historically accurate?

If Americans did other countries, they would fuck up the accents, unless they got a real Australian in.

'Oy mate I think they have something on that hill, mate.' That'd kill it.

I want a 'Nam one... with Aussie commandos or something operating behind enemy lines or crawling through the jungle. Oooo, maybe a South Vietnamese dude, but gets pwned by the VC or NVA. Then also have the typical American hero.

Aussie SAS and American Marines would be a good combination for a Nam one (kind like how cod4 switched between sas and usmc)
