I will walk you through it one more time Braddock, Please pay attention. YOU are not an American chalk full of entitlement, and since I am an American and the US is where I live, I will voice my concerns about th shit that is happening here, the attitudes that are here, and the fraud waste and abuse that is here, coupled with the the socialist Obama and his bullshit.Braddock wrote:

I think so, and now the only question that remains is why? Why do feel the obligation to not only live and pay for your life, but also to live and pay for someone elses life when they can not be bothered to live and pay for it on their own.Varegg wrote:
^^ And there you sum up our differences quite nicely
Is it not good enogh to provide the water for drinking, that you see the need to also serve it to them, when they are the ones who are thirsty?
If you have paid tax in your lifetime a record is kept, this record comes into play in the event of finding yourself unemployed, in which case you are able to claim social welfare; if you have never paid tax in your life it is a lot more difficult to get onto social welfare. Also, aside from cases involving those with disabilities, the State will cut your benefits if A) you refuse to accept work when it is available or B) you are unemployed for any length of time beyond 310 days (I think, not sure if that's the exact number of days). This puts paid to any notions of 'career' sponging... unless you consider 310 days a career. Furthermore, the amount you get on social welfare is barely enough to get by and the majority of people do not see it as any kind of way of life that they would aspire to. Unemployment is rife here at the moment and all I'm hearing from my unemployed friends is their desperation to get back into work.
I hate spongers just as much as you, and I take a great deal of pleasure when I see disgruntled chavs bemoaning the fact that they've had their dole cut, but having benefited from the system myself in the past I am still a proud advocate of socialism. You will always have a minority who try to fuck up any good system... just look at the greedy cunts who have ruined capitalism!

side post I got this today and thought it was pretty funny:
"LETTER FROM THE BOSS.....
As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to
the fact that Barrack Obama is our President and that our taxes and
government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases,
our prices would have to increase by about 10%.
But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to
the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off six of our
employees instead. This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family
here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go..
So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lot
and found six Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have
decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more
fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change; I gave it to them.
I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic."

What I find most amusing, is that by all accounts my political views are right of centre. I live in the most conservative electorate of Australia, I voted for the conservatives every election be it state or federal and am generally against government spending and taxation, as well as helping small business and the economy prosper. By all accounts I should agree with Lowing (and Tuf[catox] or whatever his name is) yet find it hard to agree with anything they say and find my self being labeled 'liberal', 'socialist' and even 'communist' all too often. And whats more amusing is by world standards Australia is a reasonably conservative country to begin with.
Ok well lets find out what the problem isDrunkFace wrote:

I am against:
Illegal alien coddling
Big govt. spending
Govt. intervention in the private sector
Coddling of those that refuse to help themselves
Coddling special interest groups and their pursuit of special rights and privileges.
GOVT. money, used for BAILOUTS of any kind for anyone.
Spreading the wealth or sharing the wealth, go earn your own wealth legally.
I am for:
The pursuit of "life liberty and happiness", as long as it does not hinder another citizens pursuit of the same thing
I believe it is the govts. roll to provide and defend, the freedom of our citizens to pursue life liberty and happiness. Not provide it for us.
I believe it is also govts. roll to build and maintain our country's infrastructure.
I believe illegal aliens are just that, ILLEGAL. Enforce our laws.
I support, reasonable social programs that offer a hand up to those that are not able physically or mentally help themselves up
I believe in punishment for criminal behavior. REAL punishment.
I support victims rights as a priority over criminal rights.
I believe the loser of any law suit should pay the amount sought to the other party. ( I hate frivolous lawsuits)
I believe in a strong military, as I recognize the US is and has what others want or wants to destroy.
I believe in the right to self defense over becoming victimized while you wait and hope a cop will show up.
I support the legalization of drugs. (With the same restrictions as alcohol.)
These are the things I have spoken of over the course of my time here in Bf2S and I think I am pretty consistent on these issues. So tell me why exactly don't we agree?
