After the Rick Santelli rant against Obama, Santelli agreed to appear on the Daily show and later "Bailed Out" on his committment.

In response Jon Stewart issued a scathing rebuke of CNBC and Santelli. Rick Santelli and CNBC get their Bull Shit thrown right back in their faces

Jon Stewart's rebuke is absotulely hilarious and 100% true. The CNBC commentators spent more time sucking the dicks of the people they were interviewing and not asking the hard questions that might have let their audience clue in that the house of cards was about to cave it. Not to mention the fact that they were participants in the wall street talk shop by constantly talking up failing stocks. It is well worth the watch.

By the way, I watched CNBC today to see if there was a response. The CNBC commenators were muted and unemotional like they took a real gut punch from Jon Stewart. Seeing that brought a certain satisfaction to my day.

Yep...  all this time people say the media has a liberal bias.

It doesn't...  it has a stupidity bias.

Moar like they probably didn't care.

I saw it last night and I did find the interview entertaining. http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index … joe-nocera

Any bias is stupid in the media.

jon stewart is a fucking idiot.  At least Santelli spoke for most of us....stewart just feeds lame recycled jokes to the sheeple.

Don't hold back, usm. Tell us how you really feel. Stewart at least makes a point about what we are and aren't buying into. It makes more sense than asking Wall Street which group they care about.

Stewart actually made a pretty strong argument.  Did you even watch the clip?

Stewart is no idiot. They did take those clips out of context though. Some of "the predictions" weren't even being made by CNBC. They were either guest or they were reporting on what others were saying. Making fun of poor reporting by using your own misinformation.. delicious irony.

Well, CNBC is still not that different from most of the financial media.  Most of it was making unrealistic predictions left and right up until the collapse.

In short, Santelli has to admit that most of the financial industry itself was made up of "losers" over the last 2 years.

The following clip shows how much of a contrast there was between conventional thinking and reality.  Reality provided courtesy of Peter Schiff....

This must be the first time you've heard Rick Santelli's name. In fact if you listed to the beginning of the op clip you heard "He has done some critical reporting of the hundreds of billions of dollars going toward failed banks, automakers, ..insurers of failed banks of automakers (lol)".

Just for the record I have NOT been in favor of any of the bailouts not in the Bush administration nor the Obama administration. Not for the banks, the insurance companies, or the homeowners that purchased homes they can no longer afford. I have consistently questioned the notion that hard working Americans that have played by the rules should be on the hook for others ill fated financial behavior. This is very easily proven....the record is in the video archives of CNBC for any media outlet interested in representing the facts. Furthermore, the "rant heard around the world" (as it has been named by the media) on February 19th was spontaneous....not scripted....and any person, organization, or media outlet that claims otherwise IS INACCURATE. If one merely watches the video (which we've included here in this column or which you can find through this link) it is clear that I stopped talking several times and only continued my commentary because I was prompted by the "Squawk Box" anchors. Though it has been reported that I am a registered republican I have no political agenda and any person, organization, or media outlet that claims otherwise IS INACCURATE. I hope that the President and the final stimulus plan succeed.

Again, the way Stewart portrayed his rant is inaccurate. That somehow it was ok to bail out banks but not homeowners.

Wow, some serious backpedaling by Santelli here.   He's like a Ferrari in reverse.

I thought you were one of those same people always slamming the media for bias and such.  When an opportunistic bit of populism makes the airwaves, you come to its defense?

what does bias have to do with anything?  i agreed with what rick said, and dont agree with jon.  pretty straight forward tbh.

So, a show that is supposed to just be reporting on a topic goes into full editorial mode, and this doesn't strike you as bias?

Interesting.
