Well you will forgive me if I feel for those that try, mostly do good a good job, then fail, with a zero tolerance society ready to hang them, apparently at the same time admitting that society is shitty and they could not deal with it themselves.Reciprocity wrote:

Props for honesty however.

Lowing, I think the reason people are having difficulty agreeing with you is because you seem to think the police have more authority than they really do. Yes, because she stole a car, she deserves to get her ass beat by her family, since they are the ones responsible for her. It is NOT the responsibility nor the right of the police to beat her for such actions unless she was resisting arrest or showing significant threat to the officers. The job of the police is to protect the people, and they did their job by locking her up in a cell. However, they overstepped their privileges by beating the crap out of her because she flicked a shoe at them.lowing wrote:

You say, "Well she was a criminal, so who cares?" So fucking what? Her past is irrelevant while she's being temporarily incarcerated. The cop should have treated the shoe incident on an individual basis and concluded that it wasn't worth getting angry over. I can't believe that you can honestly say that you feel pity for the family of the attacker rather than the family of the victim. People who snap like that police officer did should not be police officers. Police officers who severely deviate from expected behavior deserve to be punished because of the role model position they hold.
basically what lowing was saying was that police dont have to follow the law they are charged to uphold. and when caught on camera doing what he did, wee, "i wont accuse him yet until both sides are told" well its pretty damned obvious who attacked who....
lowing, please stop being this kind of troll. you are losing the little credibility u had

from what i've read (not all 8 pages mind), lowing is being given a bit too much stick over this one.

Not really.
People are innocent until convicted, being beaten up isn't the usual punishment for a crime.

Which person is the criminal? As far as I know neither have been convicted of anything.lowing wrote:
I am sure he will be punished, I will however STILL reserve my sympathies for his loss and his families loss before I shed a single tear over the criminals.
Interesting that you define her as a criminal despite no conviction but don't appear to class him as a criminal even in the event that he is successfuly charged with assault?

The US economy is a giant Ponzi scheme. And 'to big to fail' is code speak for 'niahnahniahniahnah 99 percenters'
Thats ridiculous, she just kicked her shoe off and gets thrown face first into a wall?
That guy should never work in the Police again.
Interesting that lowing classes her as a criminal for borrowing a car and the Police officer as innocent despite the video evidence.
But then she's black and the officer is white so thats all thats needed in lowing world right?

Once again, I never said this guy was right, I have explained my position several times, I do not feel like doing it again. If a cop beats down a criminal right or wrong, I will take it that the lesson of the day is, don't be a criminal.
Kinda like prison, go ahead ask me if I give a shit if prisoners kill each other or rape each other in prison. Not part of their sentence but hey, maybe you shouldn't have done shit that got ya sent to prison. Just a thought.
By the way, I had no idea what race she was. Never thought it mattered.

Well lets see, she admits to disrespect and a resistive attitude from the moment she was arrested. Now she wants to act like she is miss prim and proper. Never mind she has history of juvenile behavior, now she is a victim. Sorry, if this beat down keeps her from disrespecting authority again, it was worth it. It is too bad it will cost a cop his job, and rest assured, her entitlement status will get her paid.Stubbee wrote:

Also a news flash, when you "borrow" a car without permission, yeah, that is called grand theft and that is a felony. Not bad for 15
Cops are supposed to detain criminals, not dish out the punishments. That's what courts are for.lowing wrote:

If they are in the hands of the police they are suspects, not criminals.lowing wrote:

Her dad didn't seem very upset over it.
Well, welcome to the real world where cops are not ones to stand by while suspects or criminals are able to treat them anyway they want.
Well just needless to say, I think the eventual lawsuit will be enough to pay for her college and a new home for the family.
No, as the act of beating a criminal in custody is itself a criminal act, the lesson of the day would be that might = right.lowing wrote:

Better than having criminals ( suspects) beating cops or innocent people.PureFodder wrote:

Cops are held to a higher standard you know, they can't just do whatever they want ... he shouldn't be a cop if he can't handle badmouthing from a 15 year old girl ... it's not his job to punish her ... and if you call kicking of a shoe assault that is just laughable ...usmarine wrote:
