im baffled at the amount of blind respect given to the police by you guys. i have never had trouble with them, and 99% are awesome individuals, but just bc u have a badge doesnt mean they should be immune to criticism and anger from the public. if we keep letting incidences like this slide, well, just think Gestapo and you'll understand.

I will always, lean toward believing the cops over a criminal. The fact that you admit "99% are awesome" pretty much shows that I should, and maybe you should as well. It is not "blind respect" it is playing the odds that you yourself admit are in the cops favor over whelmingly.

I often get the urge to push some of these clowns in the path of oncoming subway cars... but I don't. Likewise, this cop probably felt the urge to teach this kid some hard respect, but should have done so in a far calmer manner. That's why he's a cop and I'm not; he's supposed to not let his judgment be clouded by emotion. I realize he's human and no human can be perfect, but some are closer to that perfection than others.
